Thanks Stick for taking the time to listen to my stuff ! I record in a home studio with very little equipment...Less than $15,000 of gear...Isn't the new technology great...All you need today is a couple good mics, a good tube preamp, some great sidemen to help me do the things I can't do ( drums horns, keys...I do the arrangements, guitars, bass, mixing, mastering) Oh yeah, and some hard work not to mention...PATIENCE !....Mix, master, re-mix and master again ! Most pure blues/jazz guys want to do everything in one take...Sometimes I do , but I'm a bit of a perfectionist so I usually do multiple takes since I'm rarely happy with my playing & singing...It's a curse and a blessing...Not to mention it drives my studio partner ( engineer ) NUTS sometimes !! Ha !Hey Ted NO harm done about your comment...I like/need a good pat on the back like everyone here... I'm probably more long winded than you looking back on my past messages here LOL ! Looking forward to other topics...I'm thinking of posting about a song I wrote called " Have You Been Down To New Orleans ? " that didn't get a forward...I know you can't be forwarded all the time but I really thought this song was on target for a listing a while back for a song about Cities, places etc ( I've submitted it again for a very similar listing due on Dec. 6th ...This time with critic, so maybe I'll learn why if it doesn't get forwarded this time )I'm off to the studio, have a great day everybody !Mike

Hey Mike,Great ratio of submissions/forwards! I checked out your website-- you've got some great mixes and recordings. I'm not a blues or jazz fan, but I can appreciate great music of any genre (I found myself absolutely hypnotized at this last Rally by a young guy doing Heavy Metal--also not my choice of listening music--in the lobby one afternoon!). I especially enjoyed your song, "A Kiss to Build A Dream On". You've got a whopper selection of albums (and your website isn't too shabby either!)-- I'll make a good bet that you will find loads of success with these tracks! Keep us posted on your success! Hey forum folks !Here's a follow up on previous forwards. Just got an email today about a forward for " Swing Jazz " tunes . This Indie label liked the first three songs so they asked me to send all the material I wanted to...So I sent in 7 of my Jazz & Blues albums...His response: " Impressive work, just the kind of stuff we are looking for "... My jaw dropped...This company receives hundreds of tunes per week and he said that my stuff was top notch...He'll get back to me on Jan 15th to let me know which of my tunes will be included on the next CD box set to be launched in Early spring and distributed in Europe with SONY/BMG..Apparantly their 1st box set went triple platinum...WOW ! I also signed 7 more tunes with a music library owned by a veteran of that industry...He has turned out to be a great contact who also requested me to send him all the stuff I wished to...His last comments : " Got your new CD. Nice stuff. You continue to show you are as diverse as you are talented! " Pretty cool even though I never had an " All 10's " critique ! LOL ! So far, 21 deals in total in 1 year and 1/2 with 3 different companies...And 1 placement on TV for a French original..BTW, this gentleman also took 30min. from his busy schedule via a phone call to give me a low down on what a musical library is about inside and out,and the info was a revelation to me ( VERY generous !!)...I hadn't even heard of a Musical Library a year and a half ago !! This WOULD NOT have been possible without TAXI. Thanks a million ! I've been writing and recording like crazy in the past weeks and will be sending at least 12 to 20 more tunes...It's a bit expensive since I use real musicians and no midi tracks, but fortunately I can play all guitars, basses, mix & master, produce, arrange and sing the main parts...But my idea is I'm investing in my future and as you all know to make any money at the library thing you have to sign a ton of songs.Happy New Year to all...Health & happiness...And placements !!Cheers, Mike

Thanks Bob, Ted and Matto for the comments ,Yes I have informed Taxi of these things. I always tell them ( David ) before I post here. My latest successes were supposed to be in their success stories but I have not noticed anything there yet...Although it takes forever to read all that stuff so I might have missed it. The purpose of posting this is really to encourage other members ( and non-members ) to know that this TAXI thing is not a scam ( I was wondering myself at the beginning ) and that if your music is on target you will succeed but it takes time and determination...Not to mention a little talent. I don't post here every time I get a forward but I try to post when I think it counts and that it will benefit somebody else too. I wouldn't want to sound like a smart ass because I'm just a hard working fellow like a lot of you...Passionate about music...I always have been. Cheers, Mike
