Re: EPIC ORCHESTRAL INSTRUMENTAL COMPOSER?
I'm going to write some stuff for it because if it doesn't get forwarded, it will go in my catalog for further pitching.By aiming high for this listing, at least you might push yourself beyond where you would go on your own.Just a thought.Mazz

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

Re: EPIC ORCHESTRAL INSTRUMENTAL COMPOSER?
Well sure I can write the content for my catalog. Not a problem! I already try for the best audio I can crank out ( BQ ) with everything I do. But if you burn a CD of your best master and take a polished mfg cd, say from Sony or somebody and play them back to back in say your car stereo, I think you'll hear a difference if you listen honestly. That difference will be the thing that gets a rejection or forward according to these listings and probably regardless of content. I just don't honestly think it is within the ability of my equipment at home. But, you are certainly correct in that the content, can and should be written for the future!Good Luck!Keith

I don't think they're looking for songs for this listing.Cheers!Mazz

Yeah the bar is high because it can't sound "synthy" if you're trying to do an orchestral thing, but there's a number of us here that have had forwards and placements with our "plastic" orchestras, so I say go for it if you feel like it!!EPIC ORCHESTRAL INSTRUMENTAL COMPOSERS are wanted by the Director of Music at an L.A. based Music Library/Publisher with current MAJOR film and TV placements (e.g. Film: Twilight, I Love You, Man, He's Just Not That Into You, Television: Ugly Betty, True Blood, Beverly Hills 90210, and many more). He is looking for "the biggest, most epic modern/hybrid orchestral pieces available." He said it doesn't have to be a live orchestra but it definitely should not sound like you used "samples". You must own 100% of your composition. Broadcast quality needed [great sounding home recordings are OK].

I read it as "the songs have to be record label quality", but he still has the same "broadcast quality" statement in the listing. He is only looking for "record label quality music" meaning that the bar is very high on this one. You must own 100% of your song. Make sure your songs are sample free and clean -- no profanity. Broadcast quality needed [great sounding home recordings are OK].Maybe there's other listings that ask for "label quality sound quality" but if this guy is an experienced guy, then he knows that almost no one has a giant SSL in their home studio!! Go for it!!!Mazz
