17 submissions8 forwards2 deals and 1 ongoing relationship. I joined in April. I'm pretty pleased with it... I guess I should get in gear and submit a little more.

I'm really glad that taxi doesn't work that way!Our forwards ratio went up to over 75 % once we got more accurate in interpreting and selecting listings.

Thanks Stick. That's encouraging to hear. I keep looking at the "deals: 0" part, dreaming, dreaming, dreaming... I know it's going to happen. Just a matter of time now. I remember getting my first "No kidding..." postcard from TAXI, and I made my day... I kind of miss them a little now that TAXI has my stuff online. It's just SOOOO much easier to submit that way. I'll keep submitting, and in the meantime I'll keep working on the commissions I'm doing too. You've got a fabulous ratio too, especially with those deals and ongoing connections. I appreciate all your input about Logic, as I'm about to move into that arena (got an offer to shadow a production company using Logic-- how cool is that??). From someone who does music full time, I appreciate your FB. Thanks. Now to save up a little $$ for that new software...Raags

Hi allSometimes people who don't frequent this forum see the "0 deals" thing with a lot of forwards as this big negative against TAXI. I know TAXI puts out articles on this and even did something on the subject at the rally.I've been pitching songs every possible way for years and know that just getting your music listened to by the right person is a big challenge. My friend David Choi, who was a panelist at the road rally, is a staff writer for Warner-Chappell. He sees CDs on the desks of the right people, labeled from TAXI. This is an example where, although the odds of a deal are pretty small, there is no way that CD could have made it to that person's desk without it being sent from what they consider a "reputable" source.Even when great music is pitched to a music library, A&R person, publisher, etc. a large percentage get rejected. And, if you've been on these boards for a while, you will have read stories of people getting called 2 (or even 3) years after the forward! So, I am writing this to say "hang in there"... If you have a high forward ratio you (1) Have validation that your music is marketable and (2) Have a chance that something will break within a few years. Casey

Hi Casey,Glad you added that note. I'm actually a big fan of forwards because it tells me: (1) my music quality and style is suited for the industry (and I do a very "niche" style of world music), (2) I was on target with my listing, and (3) I've got something that could break in the future (i.e. a potential contact). I consider it an investment in my future. And in the meantime, I have plenty of CD sales from Amazon and our live shows, and a good amount of digital sales thanks to CDBaby!TAXI has been well worth my investments, from my viewpoint. The submissions are only a part of what I do... and with the incredible Rally provided for all members, why wouldn't I be a part of TAXI? So many contacts made, and so many good career developments as a result. Raags
