Wow, this is a first for me

Post by squidlips » Wed Aug 29, 2007 3:54 pm

I decided to try a last-minute write for the Dispatch public domain listing of Nearer My God To Thee. I'd never really designed a song for a listing before. I've only submitted tunes I'd done for my own use. I can't believe I got forwarded. I kinda thought I oversung the tar out of it and that we lagged some in the latter part of the choruses piano-wise. But I guess not. Can't imagine what they're gonna use it for, judging by their website. Huh.Anyway, that was a first for me. Wild.

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

Quote:If it's the version I heard, it doesn't surprise me a bit. I think it is a valuable skill to have if you can respond to dispatch listings with new material that is tailored directly to the listing. Nice work and good luck with the forward. Thanks, song. This is why I'd really like to try to get more home studio equipment and save myself a trip into the studio......he really doesnt' charge me that much and we work well together on some things. It's still money though, ya know? Thanks a lot for the support. I appreciate the PMs and the review you gave me and I agreed with everything and would've done them all if only I'd had the ability to do so.It's got me thinking though.......

Thank you Chris. It's not really my style of singing.....i swear you can hear me struggle to be still and not do something more gospel or blues but they asked for a very traditional approach so that's what they got, lol.Mazz, I LOVE your quote under your posts.....so true!

Anybody have any idea why my T's on that song are popping so much? I hate that. Stupid TMJ anyway. I know it's an EQ problem but how do I get rid of it? It'll happen again, guaranteed.
