Re: ONOFFON
Quote:Amen, brother Thanks Drew... Well... today's ONOFFON SSP of the Day is a couple of Mixposure RC reviews I just received this morning - nothing more current than a few hours ago - both reviews come from an artist named Guy Michetti, who recently listened to ONOFFON for the first time in his review of our song, "Opus", posted earlier in this thread - here's what he said today -ONOFFON - "The Gift Must Always Move"http://www.mixposure.com/song.php?songid=762reviewed by guymichetti - 4/21/2005"The Music Must Always Groove I just love when music grabs me right from the top. This tune sure did. Some of the sweetest guitar sounds/melodies I have heard in quite a while. It's as if serenity were personified, or should I say musicified!!Elegant melodic passages embraced by some of the most tasteful of grooves. Precise and passionate drumming!!And then the music soars to even greater vistas and takes you flying along.Everything is here! Excellent musicianship, expert and expressive composition and a production that is just as elegant and robust as the music!!I am thankfully overwhelmed by this most beautiful expression of musicality. This is one more supreme piece by OnOFFOn!! Adding to my favs!!Download Recommendation!" ONOFFON - "Weekend in Montreal"http://www.mixposure.com/song.php?songid=563reviewed by guymichetti - 4/21/2005"A Sax plays At St-Catherine & St-Lauren I've been to Montreal many times and it is one of my favorite cites in the whole world. The first time I visited Montreal we had driven all night. It was March and cold wasn't the word for it. I didn't go to sleep, I wandered throught the streets of Montreal for hours amazed by the beauty, especially of the old part of the city. You guys captured that memory for me in this tune!!!What a wonderful performance by a master player on the sax. Great tone, wonderful phrasing and so much heart!!!!Another wonderful piece by a great friggin' band!!! It does not get any better then this. You guys should perform this at the Jazz Festival there. Please tell me you are and I'll see if I can rearrange my vacation schedule. May be going there this year!!!Download Recommendation!"We sincerely thank Guy for enjoying our music so much....

Re: ONOFFON
Today's ONOFFON SSP of the Day is another step in my radio persona - after five shows for KCLA internet radio - I am now going to be broadcasting on KPRO 1570 AM in Riverside and San Bernardino counties in CA. My timeslot will be Thursdays at 12 midnight - not too bad...I'll be doing the Jazz in Hollywood show - highlighting west coast jazz from the forties through the eighties - with a lot of exclusive content from our archives of Jazz in Hollywood. Music that has remained unreleased and even unheard in decades - played only on my show... Pretty cool, eh?

Another SoundClick BB review of our song, "Shadowglass", is today's ONOFFON SSP of the Day - ONOFFON - Shadowglassreviewed by The Captain "Hello Von,This does inspire. In a very, very gentle way.Music: This is very pretty without being sappy. I like it a lot. It's like a colourful crochet: a pattern with lots of variation. Very, very nice composition.Performance: You guys are a wonderfully well co-ordinated group. Smooth and professional. You must be great fun to listen to live. It all sounds so effortless. Very, very good.Arrangement: The guitar has a nice groove - sort of carries things along. There's lots happening so that the ear stays interested. So important in an instrumental to throw lots of change ups. The musical highlight, for me, is the little fall off near the 2:14 mark - where for a second the flute is alone. That sounds lovely. So that you know, my enjoyment of your work isn't a 'homers' enjoyment, I'm not really jazz fan, and while this isn't listed as jazz it's jazz elements and influences are very obvious. Good work by good musicians playing a good piece = VERY GOOD!Cam"One thing I've always liked about our music is that even people that don't traditionally like the genres of music we play can find something good in what we do... thanks Cam for this fine review...

Re: ONOFFON
ONOFFON's SSP of the Day comes from the Mixposure Review Crew charts - Mixposure has an exclusive group of reviewers called the Review Crew, who have their own charts, that grade on a different curve than the rest of the general population - for the last three days, ONOFFON has held the #1 overall position on the review crew chart with our song, "The Gift Must Always Move" -Mixposure's Review Crew Chartshttp://www.mixposure.com/RCcharts.php"The Gift Must Always Move"http://www.mixposure.com/song.php?songid=762Of course, since it's the #1 overall song, it's also #1 on their Progressive Chart and their Jazz Chart. Our thanks to the elite group of reviewers that rated it so highly...

Re: ONOFFON
Today's ONOFFON SSP of the Day is a very cool request from the publisher of Unsigned Music Magazine, that featured ONOFFON back in December of last year. Here's what he wants to do -"Hi Von, First of all I want to thank you for giving UNSIGNED the opportunity to interview you. Our readership has grown tremendously and we are looking at having our first giveaway. That’s where I need your help. We want to giveaway the “Ultimate UNSIGNED Artist CD Collection”, which includes 25 of the best independent artists’ CDs. I would like to include one autographed copy of your CD, Your Mind, in the collection. The giveaway will take place in June and once we determine who the winner is, I would request that you autograph the actual CD (returned in the jewel box) with the winners name and forward it to me for distribution to the winner. If you’re able to participate, please let me know. Thanks,Kenneth"Thanks to Kenneth for considering us for this promotion...
