Re: Live Orchestra vs. Midi
Great! Thanks so much for all of the input. I've been a member of TAXI for a little over a year now and just uncovering the benefit of the forums. It is so cool how everybody helps each other out. I hope I can do that same where possible. I am really looking forward to digging into some of these packages you all mentioned. I'll keep you posted! Rich

And, at the end of the concert will all the guitar players smash their guitars into their amps (ala Townsend)?
It's hard to make a comeback when you haven't been anywhere

Quote:What can you say about the guitar concerto so far? There must be a lot of notation you have not used in a classical context before. I am assuming you will employ a full palette of guitar techniques and effects: bends, hammers, distortion, etc..do you know if there will be any tapping? All I have so far is the amplification worked out. There will be 8 full stacks arranged in an octagon:1. Marshall Plexi2. (4) Vox AC-30s3. Hi-Watt4. Orange5. (2) Fender Super Reverbs6. Soldano7. Mesa Boogie8. Hughes & KettnerBackup amps are (4) Fender Dual Showmans and (8) Fender Deluxe Reverbs. If anyone wants to loan me any of the above for the performance, please let me know. Drew will use the guitar of his choice.Ern
