Jonathan, thanks for your comment. getting returns sucks but screeners comments really helps to know what we can do to make it work next time. i give you a little tip.. i would try to make something that screeners will have no reasons to return. yeh give them no reasons to return, meaning it will likely to be forwarded !! bit cheeky.. if you look at taxi critique (in score section) , you will see "melody, marketability, production, structure, etc.." plus it needs to be "on target". if you cover all these points you will be fine. when you are composing, be objective, think about what screeners will hear.wickedsmaht wrote:
I'm inspired by your success, but also honestly a little jealous.I'm still pretty new, but I'd been feeling confident in my submission for this listing (I went the Silversun Pickups route rather than Kings of Leon) -- but I got a return. Oh well -- here's hoping the next batch of listings has a new instrumental one I can write for. And I'll continue to follow your work!
rough work like mine can be forwarded sometimes, because i try to cover what listings ask for and i will tackle those things mentioned above. its that simple. ofcourse music needs to have good melody and riffs as well.
and there are 2 things that we really need to work on even though its not mentioned in critiques.. they are Dynamics and Variation(s). very very important thing. the bass shall play something bit different in 2nd verse and chorus, the drums would start simple then get bit more busy as the song goes, play different fills etc.. 2nd verse/chorus etc.. shall be bit different from the 1st vse/cho.
he hee.. thanx Casey!Casey H wrote:Way to go Princess! You have the magic touch!![]()
