Re: Your TOP-10 Favorite Films!
I'm a fan of indie films, too but here's jes' the majors:
Deliverance
The Good, The Bad And The Ugly
Raging Bull
Easy Rider
Bringing Up Baby
Yankee Doodle Dandy
Full Metal Jacket
Saving Private Ryan
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Tombstone
I could probably list a hundred really great ones made just in my lifetime, heh. Hurts to leave out Oliver Stone, Quentin Tarantino, Alfred Hitchcock, Clint Eastwood and Orson Wells, but it's only ten; didn't even have room for The Ten Commandments, Ben-Hur or any DiLaurentis, heh.

Re: Your TOP-10 Favorite Films!
Thanks, Roland --- Good Ones!
I just got the "ultimate" movie/video book called "VideoHound's Golden Movie Retriever" --- It not only has reviews of almost every movie (some I don't agree with, most I do), but also has "All Awards Index," Directors, Actors, Screeplay, Composer, Sound etc. etc. It's a HUGE coffee table book, but well worth it!
What it's done for me is remind me of some great movies, but some stinkers that I couldn't believe deserved it! The most amazing, for instance, is the Nationaly Film Registry, which is like the Baseball Hall of Fame. Every year, the best movies of all time are nominated, and if they don't get in, the next year are voted on again.
Started in 1989, the NFR voted. By 1993, such fantastic movies such as "The Godfather, Pt.2," "An American In Paris," "Blade Runner," "It Happened One Night," "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest," "Shane"etc. were voted in. Good! The one that made me go "HUH?" was --- "Lassie, Come Home." --- One of the best movies EVER!?
Woof!
Keep 'em comin'!

Re: Your TOP-10 Favorite Films!
Just watched "Every Little Step", it's a documentary about the audition process of getting a gig in a chorus line on Broadway. For anyone who's experienced the trauma and anxiety of an audition it's pretty powerful. Check it out.
