Re: Georgie has a Choir in her music studio... but...
Thank you Tino, yes I have read that and followed in the instructions exactly, but it doesn't work for me.
Definately seems my installation isn't correct in some way and I suspect it's that WB is on the wrong drive.
I think I'll try copying it onto the same drive as Cubase and see what happens....

Hey Georgie,
If your WB does not see your MIDI ports there is 99,9% an installation problem there. Does the EW Choir standalone up "see" all your midi interfaces and ports? If yes the you should probably uninstall and reinstall WB. If not you may want to check and see if there is any update for your MIDI drivers available.
Best,
Panos

Tino, I think that's what I have to do then. I'll try it tomorrow.
Panos, I'm not sure - if I open SC stand-alone, I can't play it from my keyboard, but it has my soundcard in the settings. But I can play it with the mouse on the screen keyboard. I can try updating the driver for my audio Kontrol 1 - but when I use the choir in my DAW, it works fine, so wouldn't that not work either if there was a driver problem?

Georgie,
While the SC is in your DAW communication with the MIDI Drivers is done for the DAW. So if your DAW has a -say- "better" MIDI driver compatibility than SC then it works with the MIDI Drivers better than SC does.
Also check the MIDI Options on the "Settings" (or so ) of the SC. You may need to just "turn on" the MIDI Ports of your interface.
I'd try to check if there is an update to the MIDI Drivers for your interface and install it.
Also please check that you are using the "correct" WB Version. There is an older one for to use with the KONTAKT Version of the SC and a newer one to use with the PLAY Version of SC (I did the mistake using the wrong one on my Mac... no fun

Re: Georgie has a Choir in her music studio... but...
Hi guys,
Well I've updated my soundcard driver (Audio Kontrol 1) and I've downloaded the latest version of Wordbuilder but it's asking for an authorization code for it and the one that came with my SC/WB doesn't work with it. I can still open the 1.0.0 version for some reason, but I can't use it for the same reasons as before. When it starts up it says "win32" even though I installed the 64 bit version. Still nothing but the same options under midi in/out i.e. no mention of Symphonic Choirs.
Well I'm going to submit a ticket to EW, even though usually you guys help me out much faster than they do. This is a tough one.
Mind you it was a whole year before I got Gypsy installed properly.
Ok, if you have any more ideas I'm listening, but I'll get back to you in a few days and tell you what EW recommend. ("Have you tried turning it off and back on again?")

I am not sure, but you might have to uninstall the first version of wordbuilder maybe? I would have thought the newest version would have updated the old one, though it doesn't seem to have. I am wondering that if you uninstalled wordbuilder 1.0 and reinstalled the new wordbuilder and enter the authorization code it might work? My guess is that you aren't going to see the 64 bit version until you get the new version to accept the authorization, and that should also apply to the options, I think all you are seeing write now is the old version.

Len, yes you're right that the first version needed uninstalling and the upgrade performed that as the first part of installation - it told me it would do it and I saw it happen. So I don't understand why it still says it's 1.0.0. Anyway, I've submitted a ticket to EW support and given a brief of what's going on and I'll see if they can shed any light on it. Many thanks for your thoughts everyone. I'll be back when I've got a response from EW.

It looks like they might have problems. I found something that says they were beta testing a new program with the word builder integrated into it, that should either make things easier, I'm not sure if it could be any worse, lol! Hopefully they will get back to you soon! Good luck!

Re: Georgie has a Choir in her music studio... but...
Thanks Len, well you know I was just sitting here working on a piece of choral music (without using WB, obviously) and I just randomly decided to look in Midi Inserts and guess what - WORDBUILDER appears there now! I have no idea why all of a sudden (that's within my DAW and I really don't care if it doesn't work as a stand-alone anyway) HOWEVER, of course there has to be a however, it wants a serial number still and the serial number of my Symphonic Choirs doesn't work. So I'm just going to send in another ticket and ask them where I can find that number. I'm half way there!!!!
