I hope not. You're new on the forum, so perhaps you don't know me or my story. If you want to hear the tracks, just ask! But I'm obviously not going to post the name of the library. The post means, I now have a signed contract with a Music Library who has accepted 3 of my original quirky/comedy instrumental tracks into their cataloque (and has asked to hear more). They have relationships with (and credits with) a number of mainstream tv shows, etc... and I happen to know another songwriter who has had several placements through the same library. So I think it's a good deal for me.Hummin'bird

Great to hear Vikki! (I'm late as usual, just back from the arid north). Interesting to watch the evolution of Anahits Dance, as well as educational (sez he, adjusting a Taxi return for the third time in line with screener's comments...there's hope! I tell myself, there's hope! Watch Vikki!... Have to say too, anyone who has done their research properly (due diligence) would be well aware of you and what you've done and how you've done it (hard!). Anyone who hasn't done their homework, well...Dave Walton, I have to smile at the XYZ Library too...won't be long before someone posts "Who IS this XYZ Library you all keep talking about??? can't find then in the phone book..."

questioning your integrity? this is an international company and an international forum that you're making statements - if i want to know where the "bar' is for library music, and someone here says their music was signed to a library, then you should show us this work - back it upand you did, i heard your . . pieces, and viewed your youtube . . "videos'i see where the bar is for a 'small library"nuff saidgood luck. .

Which is exactly what they got. A 'listing' perfectly interpreted IMO.If you'd care to throw together a couple of your own quirky instrumentals that would sail over the the very same bar that you dismissed so easily.... well, I'd love to hear them.As for the small library comment... you don't know much about music libraries, do you? Would you rather have AudXXXXXXXX, with 5 million catalogued tunes, punting your piece in the middle of a sample CD of four hundred similar pieces........ or would you rather have CXXXXXXX - a small, specialist boutique library with great relationships that place most of the work they sign.I know which I'd rather. One last thing.... be nice. It's nice to be nice And it costs nothing

There is a "nice". It absolutely the choice of the songwriter/composer as to whether they wish to share their forwarded or signed work with us. No member of this forum has an obligation to educate anyone else. After all, we are competing with each other. But, members of this forum do post all kinds of information & samples, and they do it out of the goodness of their hearts. And I thank God for the generosity of many people on this forum who are willing to share their knowledge & expertise & samples with me. Therefore it's "nice" of them to share the work that they have had signed so we all can learn from that.Quote:questioning your integrity? this is an international company and an international forum that you're making statements -Yes, and you are making statements on this international forum, hosted by Taxi, that question the validity of my post. I object to that. I've been a member here for more than 4 years, and I ALWAYS shoot straight from the hip. And, if you read my initial post, you'll see I wasn't thanking Taxi for the forward that netted me this deal... I was thanking Taxi for being the educational vehicle that continues to assist me in my growth as a composer. I admit I have much to learn... but I'm also pleased with the little successes along the way.My youtube videos have nothing to do with it... they are just a bit of fun. If you want to watch really informative videos on youtube, go to the Taxi page & watch the Matt Hirt videos. He'll tell you how to be successful with music libaries.By the way... this "small" but very active library has placements on some very major networks on tv shows, series, and documentaries. I'm very pleased to have established a relationship with them.In any case, this is my celebratory thread, and I respectfully request... that we can the negativity and stick to congratulating me on signing some tracks!!

"John, why don't people take the things I post on forums at their face value? They always think I'm making these things up!".Gov Schwarzenegger, who happened to be riding along mentioned that probably some of my posts seemed a little hard to believe... maybe I should post a photo or something. I shouted back to the Queen of England (one of my best friends)... "LIZ! What you do you think about this???". "Bollocks I say!" was her reply. So I'm going with Liz... I'll just post and let the chips fall where they may. Now... what's so hard to believe about somebody getting a three-song library deal???

Vikki - Major congratulations are the least I can send. I know its been a long journey, and I also know you have started getting deal after deal this year, these 3 are just a few of your deal tally this year. You continue to inspire me to work through the frustration I experience in getting forwards with no deals.

I know I make a joke of the "why are you here" question, saying I followed Vikki in and here's where I ended up, but it happens to be true. I'm now getting deals outside Taxi because of what I've learnt inside Taxi, from the screeners, from watching others on the forum, and from watching Vikki, who has been so amazingly free with her story, her own development and her encouragement. This has nothing to do with personal tastes or preferences in music, everything to do with becoming professional again. So thank you Vikki for sharing and inspiring. As well as congrats!
