Re: Why I'm not renewing
My grandpa was from Italy. I'd guess your money would be better spent on necessities rather than TAXI if you're making only 200 dollars/month. Hey, there's one 53MPH track on Bandcamp. It's called "Hey Mr. DJ". Here:

Seems to me, you guys are missing the foundational principle. If you want to make a sale:
This is why you need to do your research and know your customer.
- you must provide what the customer is looking for,
- make it obvious to them, in their terms that what you have is what they're looking for
- and make it really easy for them to buy from you.
This is why you need to do your research and know your customer.

When you are submitting a song or piece of production music to TAXI - if it doesn't match what the customer (library, supervisor or whatever) is looking for, it won't be forwarded. Even it if is the most awesome piece of music in the world.
- and make it really easy for them to buy from you.
This is why you need to do your research and know your customer.

Honestly, the only reason to be on Taxi is for their listings that hook you up directly with a supervisor. Most of the listings for library music can be submitted for free outside of Taxi, either on their website or by contacting the company A&R. Libraries need music and they make it easy for composers to submit to them.

Does anyone get a deal besides those who sell instrumental cues to music libraries/supervisors? Besides the Kenny Rogers guy? It's odd that only folks getting instrumental cue deals from music libraries/supervisors are the ones who post in the Success Stories . . .

Re: Why I'm not renewing
It's the reality of the number of available opportunities for film/tv music on hundreds of channels, on thousands of shows vs the available opportunities for #1 hit. That's millions of placement opportunities in film/tv vs only one slot for #1 hit. Not that hard to figure out why there's a lot more of the former than the latter. Nothing odd about the reality of the difficulty of being part of a chart busting hit. The only odd thing is anyone thinking it's easy enough that there should be lots of those success stories coming from any one place.shoodBworkin wrote:Does anyone get a deal besides those who sell instrumental cues to music libraries/supervisors? Re: Why I'm not renewing
Second try: Is anyone currently getting deals besides those who sell instrumental cues to music libraries/supervisors? I'm not interested in ratios or the difficulties in crafting a Number One Hit. Allow me to dumb the question down so that even I can understand the answer lol: Can anyone name a major artist or band in the last ten years that credits TAXI with contributing to their success? And if so, might you share that info with the rest of us? Thanks in advance!
