A situation where the phrase "Many happy returns!" just doesn't resonate.

(Um... he's not still around, is he, after all this?).
(you can see in the lower left of each post). I think he's been gone for a while.

He left TAXi and submitted a few tunes to a couple of indi-rock labels. My story: I've been here almost 3 years and I agree that the screeners are not forwarding as much of my music as I would like or even think. Heck they just returned a song that everone that heard it in the P2P forum said was dead on. WHAT? I was 99% sure it was a forward but they returned it. I have a personal commitment to stick it out 5 years and see what happens. Regardless of the returns, I have had several songs signed to an A list library. So I'll stick for a bit and keep following the 5 year plan.
If you're leaving, write what you love, and submit to publishers and libraries. There is more than one way to get music into TV & film because obviously, TAXI is NOT the only source to get leads and into the libraries. And to be honest, I have more songs signed to non-taxi originated libraries than to the taxi lead libraries.
Taxi has certainly given me a great education in the current status of the music biz.
Clearly YMMV as they say. Some have done better with Taxi, others better on the outside, many a combo. No one suggests using ANY one vehicle exclusively for marketing your music. I use Taxi and every other method I can find.dynamicalan wrote:Wow, I wish I knew which Indi labels. I think that's a great story. We all want labels to be fighting over us. I don't mean to take it out of context. I am better off not renewing but besides the fact that there aren't any critiques most of the time, there are two things which can be good to be a taxi member. One is the custom critique and the other is the road rally.
