They couldn't get there, but I could opening a second instance of my browser and copying the URL into it. So, I don't get it. If anyone figures it out, definitely post how to do it.cb

Hello Taxi Forum Members! I am another newbie, although I have been a Taxi member since April 04. A little about myself? This is hard because I am so old, but I will try to keep it short. Got my BA in Music (saxophone performance) from Northeastern Illinois University in 1983. Later went back and got my teaching credentials. Wound up working in the Telecommunications Industry for 18 years (staff, management and executive level) until around 2001 when the industry took a big hit in terms of lost jobs. I did stay active performing in Jazz Big Bands and Wedding Bands over those years. I have lived in the Chicago, San Jose and now Orlando areas. Did some elementary and high school music teaching 2002 to 2004. Hated the long hours, especially at the high school level. Since then I have been working as a Show Audio Operator at SeaWorld in Orlando. I used to work audio at all of the shows in the park but now just work the Shamu Shows where I have also been able to learn and do some camera and video work.In 2003 I decided to get a little more serious about writing and producing some of my own music so I went out and purchased some basic pc production tools. I joined Taxi in 2004. I had my first forward six months after joining and I guess I have had my fair share of forwards over the years, probably around 20% overall. It took me some time to learn the ropes in terms of when to submit and when not to submit for a particular listing. Early on I was probably taking way to much of a shotgun approach. As a result, I do not submit anywhere near as much as I used to but I do have a much higher success rate. I also had some serious production quality issues for the first couple of years which did not help. I have found the critiques useful and helpful in most cases. Even when I have been disappointed with a return I have found the critiques largely on target when I take the time to really think objectively about what they are saying. That said, I do sometimes wish they would provide more critiques instead of yes/no basis only, especially on many of the instrumental and dispatch listings. Despite the forwards I have had I have yet to see a deal materialize. But I am hopeful that will soon change.I attended the 04, 05 and 07 Taxi Road Rally's and found each one to be unique, inspirational and very helpful. I did establish a quality contact with a library during this last rally and I am really hoping this will turn into something. They have been very interested in several of my songs. They have also been very accessible and willing to work with me, which I view as a real positive sign. Anyway, enough rambling on about myself. I am looking forward to being more active in the various discussions here, both for what I can learn and what I may be able to pass on to others. Some of you have already been very helpful to me, for which I want to say a big Thank You!Kurt

I like your philosophy, but it would be easier to read if it wasn't in all caps. Hope you'll hang out here, it's a great place to be,cheersHummin'bird

Yep, I joined, some of you met me at the Road Rally, I was mostly called Mr. Kelly Greene...although the one guy that called me K-Fed was funny. I've spent the last few months building a studio, so now I plan on making some money off of it, and Taxi seems like the perfect place. All the dots were great, lotta talent in the room, I could just feel the creativity soaking in to me like osmosis. Those of you who met me know I'm pretty down to earth, but won't put up with much crap. I met alot of people that were great and who were there to learn, most of the people that were the nicest were ones that already have deals but they don't flaunt it, they offer advice, that everyone should take. And they were encouraging. Also met the ones that thought they were the shiznit and did nothing but complain about Taxi, twice I said to people, "If you hate it so much, why the fudge are you here?" (I changed out the curse word for posterity's sake.)I work with Kelly Greene (kg on the boards), I manage and play guitar for her, she's hot and I married her too. Of course a stud like me only deserves the hottest chick.Any ways, I'm ranting, just wanted to introduce myself, say hi to all the dots, and get this party started!
