Walt,Just read through all 11 pages of this thread, and it took well over an hour to do. What a journey you've been on! And what an incredible inspiration you are!Coincidentally (NOT) I just heard Senator Arlen Specter (spelling?) on the radio a couple of days ago. Someone was interviewing him concerning the book he's written about his personal battle with cancer and his survival against all odds. Like you, he persevered by putting one foot in front of the other when most people would have laid down and given up long ago. A good friend of his was attacked with a similar disease, and in the midst of it, he read Sen. Specter's book. On one of the friend's lowest days, he said to his wife "I'm getting up from this bed today. If Arlen can do it, so can I." And he did.You are a born "entertainer/comedian/lover of people" and there's a multitude of hurting people who need you.The sickness that attacked you hasn't made you bitter... it's actually served as a stepping stone to make you better!! So continue to walk all over the top of it, and dance your way to health.Blessings to you and your precious wife!

Getting ideas as to a start on the inspirational speaking. Fact, there's a lady here in town that lines up entertainment for The Town of Waynesville. She's called me to perform on the fourth of July on several occasions, sidewalk type of stuff. But, she'd be a starting point and knows a person or two. I really appreciate everyone's input. Y'all awright! ;-)

Quote:A friend of mine is impressed by my attitude about my disease. After talking with me on several occasions, and having ECD himself, he thinks I should do some inspirational speeches at nearby churches and such. I can see his point. There are many people out there who are overwhelmed with a new diagnosis, and I could help them gain a new perspective. What are y'all's thoughts? I would like for this life to mean something, and if God would reach through me to help others, then I'm all in.My illness led me to becoming a coach. I would still be making movies (bad ones). You never know when those clouds will show you their silver linings -- and really that's what they're there for!Keep breathing and trusting.Warm regards,Debra

Walter,It crossed my mind that you have in fact been chosen to fight this battle, just look how you're handling it with grace and style! As for the inspirational speeches - another "Yes" vote here, it could be an amazing personal experience for you and for those that meet you. It takes strength to hide your own pains, it takes courage to show them. You got both which equals = inspiration. Keep believing in yourself and the rest will follow. My thoughts are with you.Lindsey

I'm doing pretty well. Seems the Interferon can't make up its mind, though. One week it kicks my butt, the next it's not much of a problem. Sheesh!!
