Had an appt. w/ the ophthalmologist (wouldn't it be easier just to say eye dr.? Kinda like ENT rather than otolaryngologist) Mon.. Got a good report. He said the backs of my eyes have actually improved. I still hate getting my pupils dilated.
Should be getting another report from the onc. soon. NIH found some nodules on my thyroid that other equip. hadn't caught. So, in for an ultrasound went I today. We'll see what the doc has to say 'bout that soon. :?

Well, I turned the big 5-0 this last yr. So, the dreaded P. exam starts. I go 4 Phys. Ther. tomorrow. The day after, though  .
I always thought it a pretty dumb qu. about discomfort when the doc's doin' that chek. Should it just feel completely normal to have a finger THERE?!!!
At any rate, I get my 1st full scale colonoscopy Thur.. Really lookin' 4ward 2 that. Ah! Just life, I reckon.

The PT went well. They want me back 2x/wk & plan to use "more challenging" exercises. Yeeha!!
The proctology appt. was just a movie & a form, that I'm sure we got charged for. They have me coming back in May, I assume to get my frappacinno's  (sp?) and 2 set up the actual exam.
FUN, FUN!!

Well, PT is over. After about 6 wks, they said they had nothing left to challenge me. Double thick skull. A family trait.

I'm sure it's the meds. But, I sure feel like crud today. I'm guessin' the Fentanyl does it. That stuff sure makes a day rough if I don't sleep straight thru 'til I wake up, no alarm clock, no nuthin'. I do hate feeling light headed.
I got an E-mail from Dr. Estrada at the NIH. I'm no longer the only case of ECD in NC. There are currently 51 of us on the planet.

I do not mean to be rude, but is this some sort of running gag? I do not get it.

Walter was diagnosed years ago with a rare disease called Erdheim-Chester Disease (ECD). On this long thread, he has been sharing his struggles as he bravely fights the disease. He's an old friend around here and we give him our love and support.

Thanks, Casey.
For info about ECD got to erdheim-chester.org. For my personal exp., go to "Defying a Frightening Diagnosis" on FaceBook. You'll really learn a great deal that Dr.'s don't even know.
Oh. And no offense taken. :D

Things are going pretty well 4 me. I refuse to let the ECD keep me down. I have my bad days. But, I also keep up w/ the yd work, garden, etc.. I try not to drive much due to a Fentanyl (Duragesic) patch & Interferon injections.
Thanks for your well wishes.
