One More Reason MySpace Is Becoming Irrelevant

Mojo: It just keeps getting better. I do not want to have anything at all to do with Google chrome, call it a personal and irrational bias. Tonight, I attempted to log on to MySpace. I got a message telling me I should update my browser, which gave me four options. 1)Google chrome 2)Mozilla Firefox 3)Apple safari 4)Microsoft Internet Explorer. I picked option #4, and my wife spent 45 minutes answering all their questions. Two hours later, I can not access MySpace. They keep demanding that i pick a new browser, which I already have done. Advice appreciated. Ott

It sounds as though your browser itself is an outdated version. There are good reasons to update them or allow them to update themselves; it helps prevent your interweb accounts being hacked/hijacked and it should also improve your browsing speed/experience. (outdated browsers often have security holes that can be exploited by bad actors, bots and malware, to the detriment of the websites and their servers as well as your own machine) Try typing the name of your browser and the word "update" into your favorite search engine (such as Google or Bing) for instructions on how to do this; it'll be very similar to the procedure I outlined above for updating Flash.
Also, you do not need to elaborate on the many reasons to hate on the Google.

I can't see them ever getting back the many millions of users they lost. But you never know.

Mojo: you are absolutely correct. My version is outdated, and about a month go I got hacked. A bunch of my contacts got messages saying how I was trapped someplace in Europe, and could they send money to help me out of the airport? What frustrated me here was the inabilty to upgrade my "browser". Your advice is excellent -- except for the fact that my wife had just done what you had suggested. Looking forward to a new computer with Microsofts new programs. I appreciate your suggestions, however. If you get a message from me from Europe, asking for money to get home, please ignore it.
