Wow, thanks so much for all the nice replies! You guys are a lot more encouraging than the TAXI screeners I usually get. ;)

It occurred to me that the chords are a lot like U2's "Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of" ... But yeah, that's not a top-charting dance pop tune either. It's an unsolved mystery!

In other news...
I'm headed to my first Road Rally next month. Going alone, a bit nervous, but excited to learn a thing or two!

Well... the verse does kinda sound like We Just Disagree by Dave Mason. But that's not Dance Pop. And are there any screeners old enough to know that song?

As a kid growing up in Iowa in the '90s I knew Billy Dean's country cover of "We Just Disagree" ... and I love that song! Although I didn't have it in mind when I wrote "Carried Away." :)

I'm a bit late to this but there should be more explanation from the screener. I didn't think your melody was a copy of anything I've heard before.
