Thank you Steve :)

Propaganda is just that, propaganda :) People tend not to like when others disagree with them

Trust me - we are the same here as over there - people are the same the world over :o ! ;)

Hope you have some lovely sunshine where you are too ?

I went to bed last night thinking I was finally out of the woods. I turned on my computer, didn't do anything. Came back in the room, moved the mouse, screen came on with no icons....back to the computer dude.

I hope today will be better for you. Don't jump ship, you have been a great addition to the forums here.

Sincerely

Paul

Firefox is the most most web compliant browser, have you tired the most recent version of that?
Dear jdhogg,

This is precisely the problem.
Cannot update to the recent Version of Firefox, that SoundCloud now demands, because my Mac is a OSX 9.5 and not a Mac OSX 10.

So, anyone who has a Computer that is about 5 to 7 years old, won't be able to gain access to SoundCloud anymore.

So YOU'RE the other person I heard about? I heard rumors, But I didn't believe them. (My online name until last year was OS9osaur)
Let me guess, you drive a Citroen, too?

Honestly, I'm still pissed that I had to go out and spend a coupla thousand dollars to do EXACTLY the same things I was already doing. Ugh.
Digital. The big Lie.
Not sure that I am understanding you, dear UncBilly ... :o ;)

Re a new'er' mac - There is a worldwide organisation called FREECYCLE. It's modus operandi is all about recycling and sharing.... what is one man's rubbish is another's pot of gold :P

I did a quick bit of research and the old Bath Freecycle group left Freecycle.org a couple years ago and joined the UK organisation called FREEGLE
Here is the link - https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/bathfreecycle/info

I belong to the Galway Freecycle group and it is wonderful. If you have stuff you don't want, you give it away, and if there is something you need, then you post a 'wanted' ad for it. No money ever changes hands.

There is a chance than someone on FREEGLE Bath may have a Mac which has OSX on it, which they no longer wanted because they have upgraded to a newer one, or something. Worth a try :)

Love and hugs as always, and you know where to come when you need a holiday :P

Dear Amanda,

Yes ! It has been really lovely and sunny here too ! :)

Thank you so very much for this stupendous idea.

As you can read now from my previous Comments, I would need a recent Computer to be able to continue my "Job" as a "Music Consultant" at the TAXI Forum.
Hector used to call me his "Music Consultant". He said I was a Natural. And yes, I do have an sheer Instinct about Music Composition, and it was such a Joy to give my all here at the TAXI Forum.

I guess that everyone is going to see much less of me now.

Anyway, cannot exchange my Mac for anything in the World.
It is full of Memories, ArtWork, Photographies, Documents, Important Links and Music.
Yes, everything is Backed Up. Kind of heavy like. The Migration would be quite a task if I was to acquire a new Computer.

I was thinking of acquiring a very cheap PC Window LapTop.
Especially for SoundCloud. And therefore for my "Job" here at the TAXI Forum.
I would connect my HeadPhones to it, etc ...

I think that Michael works with more than one Computer, when he is on line with us at the TAXI TV Ustream Show.

I need to figure out how to connect this new LapTop to my Server, the Server that gives me access to the Internet.
And how to function two Computers at the same time !

Stupid SOUNDCLOUD !!! 8-)

I know, I said it before ...

Just imagine if YouTube, or TAXI, or WordPress, etc, were doing something stupid like that !
:o

2lane wrote:So Sorry Catherine!

I guess that's why I'm having trouble with soundcloud too. Got the latest Chorme broswer, the latest IE that XP will allow, they won't connect to it.

Sorry!!

Steve

Dearest Steve,

Precisely ! I am surprised that so far, not thousands of people are badly complaining !

Anyone who cannot Update to the latest Browsers, as demanded by SounCloud, is denied access to SoundCloud.

Thank God, I had completed my 33 Tracks Upload, within the one hour and a half time permitted by SoundCloud.
But I shall never see my Site at SoundCloud again.
And I shall never see people's Sites at SoundCloud ever again ! :x
I am going to miss Little Red Church Music for instance, oh so much.

By the way, dear Steve, I think that you live in America, right ?
So, as for TAXI TV Ustream Shows, at 4pm Pacific Time, on the Mondays, ... you could have access to it in a Library.
Hector used to do that when his Computer was all sorts and causing him problems ... :)

Not sure that I am understanding you, dear UncBilly ...
Dear Catherine, Sorry for the cryptic nature of my comment.
My point was that its' rare to find anyone still using Mac OS 9, as it hasn't been supported by Mac since, like maybe 2004? People made fun of me online until about two years ago for still running OS9. they'd say "Oh, you're the ONE person still running OS9."

Since running OS9 is kind of a rare, quirky thing, which very few people appreciate, I likened it to owning a Citroen, which is also kind of a rare quirky thing which very few people appreciate. ;)

Hi Catherine
Hope you are doing as well as can be. :)

Yea, unfortunately in today's computer world, everything becomes obsolete in 5-7 years. It's tough on people with limited financial resources. :( :(

Warmest regards,
Casey

Catherine says "Woe is me..."
Bill says "Whoa, is it just me..?" :?

Catherine, Maybe it's different here in the US, but I bought 3 G4 700s for about $40US each from a college 8 years ago. I gave one away last week. Def check out freecycle or the freegle. At this point, those machines will be free if you look around.

I haven't read the Soundcloud requirements, but if it's simply compatibility with any OSX (tiger, etc) then I'm betting you could pick up a compatible machine for free and ust use it for internet and keep your old machine as your music/memories machine. Then you slowly migrate your personal stuff into the new machine and keep your old machine for just music. You can pick up a used copy of OSX,Tiger pretty cheap, again, probably free.

You are not lost forever to your beloved Soundcloud community! :D

To be sure, I TOTALLY understand your frustration!! I've been exactly where you are right now hence buying 3 G4 700s :x and then eventually having to replace everything for about $4k because of incompatibilities due to "obsolesence." :x :x :x :x :x :x
So my advice is to get a free G4 mac and use it for all your internet stuff.
Here's about what you want:

Here's a listing of all the G4 models:
