Someone said that I should contact the library that signed one of my songs (via Taxi) and I ask if I can send some more directly. It worked and they signed 5 more of my songs! HAHOOOEEEE! Thank you for the tip!

Absolutely, it's all about relationships.
Once you've established the relationship it can grow from there and lead to more opportunities.

That's the way to do it, Joey! Make the music, get the connections, forge the relationships, and market yourself and your stuff. It starts with great music, but from there it's all marketing and sales. Keep after it. You're doing a helluva lot better than I did in my first year!

I joined Taxi about 10 years ago. got 1 forward...no placement and quit. Now I regret not hanging in there and really trying this songwriting thing. Back then I had my songs produced by an L.A. producer. This time round I thought I would see if I could produce. I'm 45 yr old now and really regret the years I wasted not producing! In just 6 months my productions have come a long way. Just imagine if I had 10 years of producing. I know I'd be getting placements. It takes time. The 5 year plan makes sense.

I'm 7 months into my 2nd life Taxi membership and 0 forwards. I've produced over 15 songs in 6 months. If I just got one forward I'd celebrate cause that would be a step forward. But I know my productions are not there yet. I think I am in the ballpark and batting but not hitting.

This journey could take some time. As a business owner (I own a successful pool biz) I would close shop but its not about the money this time round. I can do this songwriting and producing thing for the rest of my life. It's like breathing. Its part of me. It is me. It defines who I am inside.

I'm not going to say don't give up. Thats up to you. It's for some people and not for others. But there must be something there if you got those forwards.

I don't think you should renew. You clearly have what it takes to create commercial music, and you should submit it directly to publishing companies. Try to make contacts without Taxi and showcase your music. Many people will disagree with this advice.

Hi Joey,

This is my first ever post actually. I am planning to do that more often..
I am 11 month old taxi member and I have 75 Forwards... and I just got my first deal this week!!

The ironic part is that it is from my last forward.... (Go figure!) which took less than a week between the forward and the email... which by the way was in my junk mail.

So... I am taking the 5 year business plan thing VERY seriously. I write... submit... and dont forget (I just cant do that last one)

I renewed yesterday. To tell you the truth: I was going to renew no matter what happened... because I am now a BMI Member, I have written 200 tracks this year and I upgraded my gear, my skills... all of that because of TAXI and this 5 year dedication.

So ... 30 Forwards ? that means you have 30 tracks that are of great quality...

Be patient.... focused.... and keep doing what you re doing.

Hi Joey! Wow 39 forwards...yeah for you! I agree that you should stay encouraged, you must be very close...btw, stopped by soundcloud and really really like I'm going to heaven... (what is Feb 23?). I still haven't gotten any forwards on Contemporary Christian...it isn't a very wide road y' know. I've had 2 forwards since I joined in December of last year...both for children's songs. My husband and I are still trying to figure out the recording process with the software!! What a learning curve!
