so why not just type in the search on your computer? i do that allot. I guess if you write stuff that is not signed then you might need to search for compositions by mood or whatever.

I don't know about other daws, but cubase has mediabay, which allows you to search and tag, audio, midi, loops, snippets
categorize, projects, about anything! You can make your own searchable labels and tags. If you categorize or tag your projects by submitted, forwarded, rejected, however you may want to categorize or tag things. If you write in the lyrics in the project, you would just search for the project for them. I don't see how "composer catalog" is any better or different.
Wavelab even has "audio database", if by chance you have it.

Sometimes with all the different titles we give our works (our own variations plus library re-titles), works-in process, versions, experiments, alt mixes, etc we don't know what to search FOR.Dwayne Russell wrote:so why not just type in the search on your computer? i do that allot. It's the whole re-titling factor that I find lacking in all the "tracking" software.

Hey guys,
Keith here...I am the person who wrote Composer Catalog. Yes, there is a Mac version in the works and I am shooting for a release at the end of March 2015.
I made sure a lot of other things that are not usually handled with generic library software like iTunes, were included (alt titles, multi publishing deals, advanced metadata like band soundalikes, moods, tv shows, etc..)
Let me know if you guys have any questions or anything I could help with
...said the man without sounding too salesman like!

You are exactly right, Russell. There was nothing out there that handled that type of thing. I made sure that Composer Catalog did.Russell Landwehr wrote:It's the whole re-titling factor that I find lacking in all the "tracking" software.

Re: How do you guys keep your music compositions organized?
Full disclosure; Keith is a friend of mine. But that being said, his Composer Catalog software is fantastic. I'm on a Mac so I can't use it (yet!) but I will as soon as it's Available. And I would buy it even if he wasn't a friend.
Keith is also a great composer ( and Taxi member) and has developed this with his Composer hat on. I beleive he thought of everything a composer would want from this, drawing on his own experience. I love software that comes from Folks who are composers: LASS, Spitfire Audio, Embertone.....
check out the website and watch the videos. The software is really impressive.
Cheers

I do have a line of people requesting to be beta testers, so I should be good. But if not, I will definitely hit you up. Thanks!
