Thanks for helping me name my next country song ;)
You're welcome... ride 'em, Cowboy... giddy-yup! :?
I was having images pop up of one of my favorite westerns: "Open Range".

And;fwiw - long version of my short-story:
"funsongs" is just the shortened version & handle from when I started creating
written lyric-charts for copyright purposes: funsongs, uh-huh
from the time when someone asked me, "what kind of songs do you like to write?"
When I replied "fun songs! - I hope... music that I would listen to."... it kinda stuck.
I didn't know it would launch my own variety genre. :? 8-)
("A horse with no name" had already been taken. 8-) )

When discovering the forums and Monday night TAXI-TV... there's already Peter D.
Not wanting to be the cause for confusion, "funsongs" worked there.
Really I'm aka:
Peter
aka: Peter R./Pedro/#4/"Hey You!..." ;)
PS - go Colts (for Luck)... and go Seahawks (for Pete's sake)... big day for NFL fans.

Indeed, Robb... but at the moment, I'm not getting any special vibe from
"Cool Beans Peter". Sorry, Bro. :? 8-)
(maybe when the caffeine kicks in...!)
Have a great day.

Hi Rob - I've learned a lot form your thread. No worries about highjacking. In reading the book "shortcuts to songwriting for film", she says a melody and hook are needed. If that is true, and If you have time, you might want to lay a short, repeating, melodic hook over what you have done.

Maybe the more experienced people, here, will chime in and say if that's really needed.

funny thing bout instrumental cues……

a "melody" played on a specific instrument may or may not be the best kind of "hook". A hook can be a chord pattern or some other kind of instrumental "hook"

Thanks again everybody!
I actually spent another hour or two trying to sweeten the mix and i ended up nixing a couple of morectracks that weren't as tight as they could have been. Larry, wisecmove reading that book. It's been calling my name for a couple of weeks now. Think i will place my order :)
In closing, regardless of whether or not i get forwarded, no regrets. I enjoy doing this and am learning so much from it.
Thick skin is an asset in this business IMO...
Have a super day!!
