If you have ever taken a traditional music harmony class, the professor tells you that you learn the formal structure first before you find creative ways to break those rules. When an incorrect word is used in literature or lyrics, it's usage is referred to as "poetic license" - meaning the author knows it's wrong, they are just taking license to use it that way for the good of the piece they are writing.I feel much the same way about the formulae the music industry tries to feed us about writing music so it will be successful. If this were true, all songs would sound the same. But, those of us who have original thought processes, must by nature create compositions that define themselves as unique artists and not one of the herd.IMHO...

I'm also in OKC, Matt, and some around here use "y'all" for 2nd person singular (instead of singular "you").So what's the 2nd person plural? Why it's "all y'all", of course! Well I hope all y'alls is takin and lernin yall some more gooder english. Thanks Jonathon, I had forgotten about that usage.Where are you in OKC? we should hook up sometime.M~

Try this one, "It doesn't mean a thing if it hasn't any swing." -That would be the grammatically correct way to express, "It don't mean a thing, if it ain't got that swing.', but I think you'll agree it loses something in translation.
