I'm totally into seeking the truth, but there's always more than one way to skin a cat. When we start talking about what HE did, we lose half our audience. And you posted your opinion right under a very funny Monty Python video, every sperm is sacred. That juxtaposition would make those Monty Python quite proud. I can see them quaffing an ale and saying, Let's see what happened next." So let me get this straight...New Age philosophy ok on the Taxi forum. Christian ideas not ok....Thanks for setting us straight...... Oh and here's a smiley face too. Derek

I'm not trying to set anyone straight, tho your welcome to propagate that myth if you want. I'm quite comfortable with people not liking my opinions or me. Happens all the time. Are you Ok with people not agreeing with your opinions of Christianity? And do you think this is a great place to discuss it?

Re: What's The Purpose Of Life
Chiming in here:Derek and I cowrite and we differ on a lot of things; we're not of the same religion or political party, etc.We prefer, I think, to focus on our similarities, like our dislike of men being wolves to men and loving music and being good parents while struggling to be good musicians, etc.I'm fine with folks talking about Christ or Buddha, it helps me see more deeply into the minds of someone I might cowrite with some day. Understanding is the key and communication gets us there. So I guess I'm not understanding your post, Steve.

The hydro company. Local water and sewer. Government taxes. The oil company. Gas companies. In fact, they get most of my money so I think I'm doing a pretty good job of it.

Steve, Likewise I can't care much if you agree with me or not. You did say that you didn't want to come to the Taxi forum for a Bible study........Personally I don't mind reading others opinions that don't agree with my own. That is after all how we grow as individuals and as a group. A sign of maturity is to be able to listen or read what others believe and respectfully disagree or agree with them. Making someone feel that their opinion is unwelcome just because I don't agree with them is intolerant.. Derek

You know what they say, eh? Discussions about religion and politics almost always end up with people fighting. And that is the truth and that is why people avoid these topics. But me, I don't mind the fights. lol

Re: What's The Purpose Of Life
I used to think life was pretty cool. One day I got a different look at reality, and I figured out existence on this planet isn't all that great. There are places in my dreams that portend an existence beyond life on earth, and death, where everything is right, all makes sense, and sadness, loneliness, and evil have no existence. Life does have its cool moments, and the charge is to live it and give it all you got, even through the rough and nasty times. In that regard, the question is 'do we hang on to life, or does life hang on to us?' I know I'd rather be someplace better, a place that does not exist in this universe.ArkJack

But you, snuck in there and quoted me and now I'm stuck with it. Okay. I DO enjoy the fights. So there!

Most people would call that better place 'heaven' whatever that means to you.
