Hi All,
Thanks for the link ...seems that SC has fallen in the Rock n Roll Lifestyle pit..I really hope they rescue this such a database and a great business idea.

They probably should have just sold stock in the first place, cause then you don't have to make a profit, lol!
Some large corporation with money to burn will probably buy it eventually.

Re: Posting to Soundcloud
[quote="Paulie"]Soundcloud is a music awareness site in my opinion. It's an online resume or portfolio. If people like your music they will contact you, they won't care if it's a low-res mp3 or a high quality wav. They know what Soundcloud is and does.
I sometimes post tracks that I've signed in one of my lists, but I will include something like "signed" in parentheses, or say "as heard on The Kardashians" or whatever. This may add some street credibility for the right visitor.
I also use Soundcloud to create private lists of songs I'm sending to a library. "Here's a list of ten tracks in style X that are currently available, let me know if you would like any of and I can WeTransfer you the hi-res versions." I also use private lists when reaching out to new contacts: "Here are five tracks that I think are a great fit in SHOWNAME which you are supervising. I'd like to give you first shot at claiming this if interested, I'd love to become a quality resource for your music needs."
Soundcloud is a tool, tools need to be used properly. I upgraded to the Pro version so I could have five highlighted playlists and more storage. I also try to keep it updated, pulling out older files and replacing with more current content when necessary.
Paulie Thanks Great information!

Re: Posting to Soundcloud
You're not even going to get that on SoundCloud. SC is a completely free website when it comes to paying its content providers. Sheesh, even Pandora pays more money than SoundCloud, and we PAY to be a part of SoundCloud.VanderBoegh wrote:Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking the $0.000003 or whatever the going rate is
That being said, I've got a Pro account (like $135 annually), and find it to be invaluable. I've signed one lucrative deal from having a publisher peruse my site and discover music he liked which has since translated into thousands of dollars in my pocket. And their playlist function is easy to embed into your own personal website, which saves you the hassle of having to figure out other ways of making your music available to interested parties.

Hey Matt I was actually was prompted to write this inquiry because I saw the job you did on your SC- How do you find enough
time to fit what you got going on ?? lol Great job! Thanks for the input Mike
