Casey you're closing in on 15,000 posts, holy cow!
Which really raises the question: How can we be sure Casey isn't AI?
Only a bot could make THAT many posts!!

What's the next level above "King Of The World" -
"Master Of His Own Domain"...?
I've actually met Casey in person - he didn't appear all that robotic.
But this 'forums' iteration could be a clone - we can't really prove otherwise - can we?
 :? 8-) :geek:

I assume that was for a vocal song? I wonder how it does detecting some thing like an EDM instrumental cue that's using all virtual instruments?
You can tell just by listening , the fidelity of generative AI isn't as clean sounding as someone exporting a DAW track - it has a weird grainy lo-fi kinda sound to it with artifacts in the top end, hard to describe but fairly easy to spot.

It reminds me of when we had to use 128k MP3's and they always had a certain nasty sound to them, grainy with smeary high end transients. AI is not writing discrete tracks like drums, bass, pads etc and then mixing/mastering it...it's making a homogenous audio turd that it polishes and pushes out in one big lump, that's partly why it sounds weird.

I read somewhere that software that is able to split out component parts of a track can't do the same with an AI generated track as it's generated as an amorphous blob (as CD pointed out)

So that suggests it should be pretty easy for software to detect atm.

Would be interesting for someone to post something of their own and an AI creation with appropriate prompts and see if we can easily discern between the two. I would do it but I don’t work much with virtual instruments.
