Roadsign,

Your post is seven years old. I assume that you're not in this community anymore because this post was your only post. I'm a songwriter who travels to Nashville a couple times a year for co-writing. Check me out at 316Music.com

Just a lurker following up - it's good, in my opinion, that you noticed the age of the original post of this thread.
Too often folks forget to check how current the search & request is.
ALSO - more likely to find this kind of thread on the COLLABORATION CORNER board on these forums.

I took notice of this post since it has "Country" in the subject - a genre I like to write & produce;
with help from Nashville studio pros for instrument tracks for stuff I beyond what I can do on my own.

Hope that helps; Cheers.
Peter
Peter,
Thanks for responding and giving some good advice. I'm just learning how to participate on forums. You're a veteran, I'm a rookie. I appreciate your generous spirit. Maybe we'll meet at the Road Rally.

No problem, Randall.
These free forums boards are what 'learnt me', introduced me, to the concept of co-writing, collaborating, even 'toplining' (which I'd never heard of);
and the projects I did with others - unknown to me - led to many lasting friendships.

I'm no longer a paid TAXI member; and last year's Road Rally for me (my 6th) was attended on a GUEST PASS from one of those TAXI partners.
Likely I won't be spending the funds to stay at the hotel; so only a slight chance I'll do a day visit - but probably not even that.

Where can I hear some of what you have produced?
It might be a good idea to include links in your 'signature' so others can find whatever you want them to know about your music.

Cheers!

Peter, I'm figuring things out. I quoted on my last reply because I didn't know where the reply button was. Now I got it. And yes, I'll put my website in my signature. Good idea. Is there an advantage to having a "handle" other than my given name in this Forum? I put my full name so that people could google me if they wanted. But the links are the way to go. I just realized that my email address has a nice signature but doesn't have a hyperlink either. I should put it there as well.

Probably better to use your name - or the most important 'brand' you want to be identified with.
I'd say - 'be consistant'. I know some folks who list their projects under multiple variations of their name or 'brand' -
and it ends up hurting them (especially by their PRO - BMI or ASCAP) when assigning ownership & royalty payments properly.
Stick with one thing - is my suggestion.

My use of 'funsongs' started kinda as a joke that just happened to stick; so I stayed with it.

Someone once asked me, "What kind of songs do you write?"
I answered "Fun songs!" And the rest, as they say, is history - or MY story.
So - for my YouTube channel - my main outlet: I went with a combo of both -
and hopefully that will work as both name & brand - together.

These are just my opinions.
Your mileage may vary.
Cheers, Peter

Peter,
Thanks for the encouragement. One thing I learned today banging around in the forums is that you can submit a song before a deadline and then improve it and upload the new version before the screener reviews it. That let's me not give up at the last minute because it's not good enough. I can submit on time and then finish my producing work in the next day or two and maybe they will never hear the rough version.
