Hey Theodore!!Just writing to say CONGRATULATIONS to ya'. I KNOW for certain that it's been a difficult task. I've done this before in the past, and have accomplished one of the most seemingly impossible feats (twice), only to give in to it again from stressed-related issues. But I've decided to try again, (for a third time, after all of the these years) since reading your accomplishments. I've gone without since early Sunday morning. So it's been a good 24 hours at least (actually, it's goin' on 48 hrs.). You have inspired me, my friend. I've been telling myself "TO QUIT" for the longest, and I'd go "I'll start next month". Next month would come, and I'd say "Aaaurrggh. I'll try again next month." Needless to say this went on & on. So reading your post gave me some incentive ta' quit. Took me a little while to accept the concept, but I finished the last one this past Sunday morning, and said to myself, "Lemme' seriously give this a try now!". So I've been gettin' by so far since then. I find myself looking to drink lots of liquids, as I always had a beer to sip on while smoking, or I'm always looking for a piece of candy or something. I've got some Nicorette gum that I'm chewing right now, but ya' gotta be careful how ya' chew that stuff, or you end up throwin' up from swallowin' all of that nicotine! Well, enough rambling. I figured NOW was as good as any, to give it a try since one of my fam is workin' ta' get himself healthier. Besides, I don't know how just yet, but I gotta find a way to make it to one of these Road Rallys somehow. I figured, now would be a good time to try and get rid of this nasty habit. Maybe I could save some money to get myself there in November. I wish they were a little closer to the midwest. Then I could possibly hop in the car and drive. Anyways, keep at it, you're doin' just fine, and I'm gonna make one serious attempt to hang in there with you. We'll be like the "Quit Smokin' Buddies", you, solrax 'n me. Take care! I-468

I-468I'm up for it!I think that it will be easier when you have people who have/will go through it, and all the inspiring stories everyone has written, and i'm sure will continue to write. As far as when you we're talking about the next month, mine has always been after my next trip. (I take many business trips).I really feel like I can do it this time. In fact, 1 1/2 hours before I officially stop smoking. So my quit date will be 4/15/2008 at 8AM EST. Oh wow, this is GREAT lol!So everyone take out their cigarette boxes and jump on them, burn them and dance around them singing your latest lyric! Go wild! Brilliant, well done all of you, good work Ted! This could be made into a good song!

You need to get through the first 21 days, and you are two thirds of thye way there. I gave up 25 years 2 months 3 days and 13 hours ago. It will get better, but you must remember never to touch another cigarette. Don't fall for the trap of lighting cigarettes for others. Believe me, it will change your life, eventually. Try and do things where you need to use both your hands.. I will be thinking of you Lucas

Nibble fruit, try dried fruit. Just an idea but maybe a bag of raisins will keep you busy, especially at work. Other than that I'd say you just need time.
