Re: THREE more attempting to QUIT SMOKING!!!!!
ah its been a serious of pretty stressful days, i slipped a little, and ended up smoking a little more, (the equivalent of like a cig and half) yesterday, just cause i was really ruffled, fealt really damn guilty, and im going to great pains not to do it again today, just keep pickin up the cig, and then putting it back down with a forceful NO, so far I am getting a few looks, but everyone knows im quiting, and if you cant tell, me acting random is almost expected, so....but i didnt like crack, i just snuck an extra one in, cause im trying to put it off, and then what happens is, when i hit the limit, ill light it, take a puff, and put it out, so its 3 and a half ciggarettes, but i smoked maybe half of each, so i might actually be down to 1.5 cigs, its just you know, i can either take that one puff, or turn into a total monster, I am really trying to fight it off, im glad you all are staying strong, you guys make me proud

You make me proud, too.I've had three days in a row of "one of THOSE days" days. I am SO lucky not to be the violent type, 'cause I would either be IN jail right now or on the lam after beating the S*#T out of several people. HOW I made it through them without lighting up, I honestly do not know.hang in there, buddy. Don't beat yourself up over the 1.75 cigs you smoked. Congratulate yourself for the 18.25 you DIDN'T smoke. You will win. You WILL.Ted

Re: THREE more attempting to QUIT SMOKING!!!!!
altho i did make some progress, i took up speed reading (tony buzan is the man, i highly reccomend use your head, speed reading, and speed memory, those are the ones im personally reading) so when i want a smoke, i practice speed reading, the side effect of this so far is that i went from 143wpm at 66% comprehension (below average speed, little above average comprehension) to 400 (upper limit, faster is considered "super-reading" which im aiming for at least 1000, hope 2 or 3 though)wpm at 93% (which is ridiculously high) without omitting any words at all and i dont even feel strained, that two lines at a time thing and reading backwards and subvocalizing is still holding me back though, but it gives me something to do.

You must do that speed writing thing too! Congrats to ALL OF YOU for taking it upon yourselves to change your lives for the better. Something to celebrate!! Don't stop now!! I love checking in to see how you all are doing-- it's a real upper to watch you all making such great progress!! So many of us are following your posts, watching all your steps, counting the days with you... Keep up the great work!! And for Ted-- Happy Month-With-No-Smokes to you!!! I realize it's not yet a month, not until tomorrow, but I've already started celebrating with you! (And actually, in India, it's almost Sunday right now... 1/2 hour to go... So they'll be starting their sacred celebrations for you on the banks of the Ganga river at sunrise in just a few hours.) I'm so proud of you!!! You're top notch for starting this thread!!Keep it up, all you guys!! RaagsP.S. Notice I changed the title of the thread in my reply to reflect what you all are doing!!

Re: THREE more attempting to QUIT SMOKING!!!!!
Hey, y'all. So incredible to think that when I wake up tomorrow, it will be a full month without smoking. I never would've believed just five weeks ago that such a thing were even possible. I'm buying y'all a round at the Rally. Thanks to you ALL for the support, the encouragement, the comraderie... I feel very blessed to count so many of you among my circle of friends...and never DREAMED my circle would grow to be this size. Thank you.I-468, Milfus, Solrax... I am so proud of you. I KNOW that you have the strength and the will to see this through. You've kept me strong and focused, and I'm still going to be checking in with you steadily to return the favor.Y'all CAN do this. Breathe in, Breathe out, repeat...Ted
