Re: I've Had Enough Of This
Hi Songwriter,I did not read anyone elses post, I just clicked on the link and started listening, so if I say anything anyone else said then, cool.I think it works very well in answer to your specific question. I can see it in my mind done just like you did it OR a number of genre nudges. I tend to be a bit of a visionary when I look at peoples music so I can see stuff going on that others may think I am coming out of left field at times. I love the piano work and I think it makes the song (along with your vocal) very intimate (I can see this going to a dreamweaver sound but not so dated). I can also see the piano swapped out for a second ryhtm guitar making it more "modern rock" with a chestier vocal and a bit more chaotic. I can also see the piano swapped out for a synth and giving it a more (maybe too dated if the synth sound is not chosen well) hyped intense drive but in a more dance genre then the rock genre a guitar swap would give.I think this song could be done by a lot of different bands/artists in a number of genre's with just doing the genre specific nudge to it. Other then the obvoius bands this song would fit I can see the Red Hot Chili Peppers doing this, or even Gwen Stephanie.Definately a song I can see as worth marketing to artists, at least that is my opinion. I feel ya left it a bit open to interpritation which is great if you plan on putting it out there for an artist pitch. If going for Film/TV then I think the guitars (left mainly) aren't well defined enough for this recording to be the final version. You did mention putting a bridge in so I am taking it that it isn't the final. I can see this song working without a bridge but judging from the talent in the song so far I think you would put a good one in there making it all the better. Btw, your vocals sound GREAT! I love the soft, intimate yet not a falseto weak sound you got going there. (there are such talented people on this forum, you are included in that)I am listening on a set of Emu PM5 monitors and Klipsch B-2s as my A/B so it is a decent sound set-up but obvious not "pro" like I wish I had. RobEDIT: Ok, I read the others replies and I see some agreement with your vocals. Cool, because they do sound great. I do love the overall sound of this song and I defiantely feel this could go into Film/TV. I am just (as a guitarist at heart, although I can play a number of instruments) having a bit of a rough time with the definiton of the guitars as far as taking this song from great to awesome. Great Job though Songwriter!! I love this song and your voice sells it!!!

Re: I've Had Enough Of This
I liked this song alot. My only critique would be in the production arena but it's rough so I won't even go their. For me the melody sounds timeless, it could of come from any era, a very good thing, and I think the arrangement puts it right in the current Coldplay or Snow Patrol style. You might listen to some of that stuff to make a pattern for dynamics and tension building, they might give you current sounding production/arrangement ideas. I feel I understood your message in the lyrics clearly even though it's completely different than my life experience, I could never have written or could I sing this song. Never the less I appreciate what your saying. As for the apparent contradiction it seemed to me that in the beginning of the song your questioning 'would I change anything?' but by the end you've concluded no 'I wouldn't change one thing', but, this might get lost on a screener and other listeners. And then maybe I'm totally wrong?......
