I had a Moto 828mkII that crashed and burned a couple of months ago. I have a borrowed 828 right now. In my research to find a new unit, a buddy of mine mentioned this company's upgrades to interfaces. I've always had a suspicion that many of these devices have lousy A/D converters, ('cause I just know my lousy sound quality couldn't be my own ineptitude at mixing ). These guys hot rod your existing interface, into something I've been told that is remarkably better than the sound quality most of these units ship with. I am also anxious to find out how good those Apogees actually are. http://www.blacklionaudio.com/products.htmlFor any and almost all gear discussions/addictions, http://www.gearslutz.com is a great place to learn, as well Quote:Thanks for all the advice.I was also looking at interfaces last night. I like the Focusrite Saffire, but the Apogee Duet may be the way to go. Has anyone used either of these, if not what is another direction I could take. Thanks,Al

I use Mac/Logic as well. Converted from a Digital Performer user just this past year. Both are Mac and I would advise you to go that way, if for no other reason than you've got several guys here that use Logic and would be able to help you with the learning curve. I'm still learning some things, by the way. For instance, how do you get RID of a crossfade on an audio track? Sheesh. I'll post that in another forum if that's too far off-topic here.Oh, and I use an MOTU UltraLite for my interface. Perfect if you don't plan to record more than 2 tracks at the same time. It also handles MIDI.
