Well, I would guess Robin would know what it takes to get a forward, but I guess even she probably has no control of her screener's feelings for a song on any given day. Cam

I got the book a few weeks back myself. Its great. For those of you that can't stand the 'commitment' of a book - I can assure you you've nothing to be afriad of here ....... No long laborious chapters that take 3 pages to make their point will be found here......The best trait of this publication is that you can skip & jump around to your hearts delight! Even reading one page a night will provide you with helpful, useful and insightful information. Really Chris

Ok. A while ago after reading this thread my interested started to perk a bit about this book. I've been hemming an hawing for over a month and just this morning over a cup of coffee I ordered the book. I did think that the $28.99 seemed a little steep, but then again that's nothing in the shadow of a hit song! I'll wave to you guys in the camera when I'm accepting my grammy Andy

Ya, this book has to be one of the better books I read on songwriting. I need to finish it, but I have so many other things I have to read. Such is life. ;)

Success is failure analyzed

Sometimes the truth feels good. Sometimes bad. But it's always good for us.

The world's greatest music was written without the technology we have today.

Think this book's spendy? Try Katz On Music Licensing.

Jeez, I forgot all about this thread. I must've been on a caffeine-injected trip  when I opened it. It's still a great book, though!

I have been able to grab a lot of informative stuff from here. Feels great to see people sharing their thoughts with one another.

Anyone have an opinion on the new writing for TV one?

It's a must-have if you intend to write for that market; it's the only book of its kind so far as I'm aware. The chapter titles alone could save you years of heartache.

Both books are excellent. The first one is a great overview for newbies or oldies like me who needed a kick in the pants to get back in the game. The new one is a must if you want to write music for film/tv. There is so much useful info about the market, and the exercises are quite valuable. I have spent more time writing and recording in my studio since reading these two books and for that I am very grateful.
