Bill, your music is fantastic and unique (the best thing of all)....you will succeed one day....ya just gotta keep on believing. I always pull out this silly song that I wrote (y'all have heard it) when I'm in a doubting mood....it sums up my whole philosophy about staying the course. When No One Else BelievesEverywhere around you Someone's gonna doubt youAs you travel on that journeyTo points unknownIt's so easy to give upTo stay stuck in a hopeless rutBut if you stay the courseYou might make it homeChorus:Oh, you have to believeWhen no one else believesYou gotta have that visionWhen no one else can seeOh, you have to believeWhen no one else believesAnd you'll rise like the morning sunFloatin' over the treesThose hard knocks they can claim youAnd those critics they can tame youWhen those goals you're reaching forAre so far away....Some will call you crazyWhen you start dream chasin'Listen to your heartNot what others sayRepeat chorus

Jul 10, 2008, 12:06pm, billg wrote:I just heard back from Erin at Taxi & the main reason I was returned for this listing is that my vocals didn't cut it. Sort of bummer news considering it was an ala Bob Dylan lisitng."the vocal performance could be much stronger . . . In this listing, the performance on your tracks just didn’t quite cut through the competition of the other submissions . . . tighten up the vocals and you could see more of these songs pushed forward."there you have it. I respectfully disagree with TAXI's decision here. You deserved a foward, especially on "Compliments in Lavender." To me, you sound exactly like Dylan here, even better. You know I always call you 'Dylan with pitch.' And you also know how I feel about Deja Vous Blues....both killer songs with appropriate vocals.Bummer.

I had a return once that said "vocal does not help to sell song" which confused me mightily. Did I need to take more voice lessons, I wondered??(I asked a friend about it & he said that comment was because I don't sound like a country singer. No twang. That confuses me mightily cause Shania Twain and Faith Hill don't have twangs.)Anyway, that was years ago and I've recovered from it now. I think.

hahahaha, all y'all!! I've had the same problem, submitted to two different listings, got them back the same day......one said, "you really could've done better on your voice, it's not up to your usual standards" (he'd never screened me before!!) and the other one was "Wow!! Amazing vocals!". Same song.
