Bill,I think there are three stages, or questions one has to answer, to this TAXI journey of submissions, returns and forwards, and deals.1. Can I do this?This is the stage where you post a track on the forum and get chewed to bits.We've all been there. Some people stay and continue to get chewed up and improve their craft, some people fold and are never heard of again. I think you most likely have proven you can do this.2. Can I be successful at this and make some money?I'm still trying to answer this one. Unfortunately, I think this takes several years and some critical mass of forwards and deals .(this is where I should pitch Matto's You Tube videos) The other unfortunate piece of this is the returns. I've grown immune to returns, still get them regularly, but now view a forward as a favorable introduction, An intro to a business partner that can hopefully grow over time.If it takes ten returns to get the forward and the start of a relationship why do the ten returns matter?3. How much money can I make doing this? I suspect there are a handful of folks stirring around here that are pondering this question. I think this probably takes a lot of good relationships and time,time, time to get here.This is my version of a Pep Talk. I think one attribute all successful people share is being "too stupid to quit" I'm stupid enough to not quit, I hope you are too. Chuck

I'm in the period of adjustment right now too, bill. It's an interesting place ta be and it's a win-win no matta what we decide, really. I mean, if we keep going, it's clear that if we're somewhat diverse but very very good at the niche things we do, we'll see success. When that will happen appears to be the question. How long can we hold out is the tail end of that question. I stopped submitting about three months ago. Not because I didn't like the returns as much as I wanted my money to go a little bit farther and clearly, I was misreading my chances (or rather, not submitting correctly) by getting the return ratio I was getting. If, on the other hand, we choose not to continue, then we gain more time to do other things we enjoy as much as we did this. And who knows? Whatever we choose to do (if it's not this) might even make some cash too. Hopefully not taking 8-10 years to happen, though. So either way, we can't lose.

I've taken up meditation. Emotional rollercoasters are so the opposite of healthy, it ain't funny. (I believe that word would be 'unhealthy'). Thanks gang...I'm actually pretty realistic about my progress (which has been really good since I joined...the fastest I've ever progressed). I'm not discouraged personally about my stuff, as I know it's still getting better. I joined that 50 songs in 90 days challenge, so we'll see if that helps push my creation side...and my chops!Sorry if I appeared too down over this thread...things are all good.And both of you are great, btw!
