Hi guys, I'll just chime in on this double-thread because I too can't listen to any other music when I'm in writing mode, and these days, that's every day - woops. I fall asleep with whatever tune I was last working on going round and round in a maddening loop and when I wake the first thing I'm conscious of is that same tune still in a loop going round and round and round. But like you say Mark, it does lend itself to some new ideas and development. Also, Ern, I've been following bits of your plight with your neighbor and feel for you. We've been in a somewhat similar situation since moving into our current house 2 years ago, although not as bad as yours, enough to make life uncomfortable. Finally two weeks ago the guy beat his wife once too often and she finally called the cops and had him removed from the premises - We were doing a happy dance!! He is mentally ill and I think has an alcohol problem amongst other things. Feel sorry for their two little girls, but surely they are better off without him. Hope things improve for you...Georgie

Leo Kottke, the guitar player gives this advice. "When a song gets stuck in your head, try to sing it backwards to yourself and it will go 180 degrees out of phase with itself and cancel out." Try it, it works!Elser

everyday...EVERY FREAKIN' DAY I wake up with another song stuck in my head. Sometimes it's one of mine. Sometimes one I heard yesterday. Other times I haven't heard it in years. When I sit and write my Morning Pages, the first thing I write is a line from the song, and label it T.L. (todays lyric). Somehow that helps get it out of my head.

Hi Forum Folks,I just received a fairly favorable critique (return) for my song, "Some Kinda Crazy". I need some guidance to make full use of the feedback. The screener gives me all 8s yet suggests that I need to make changes. Not certain if the song would be a 10 if I had responded to a more appropriate listing.Any thoughts,Tim McCarthy
