For all your talk about not being good enough, I think it possibly has more hit potential than any of the rest of ours. Of course, what do I know? If I knew a hit I'd write one.CamYes!!!I third that!

Just a note to ML....that song got almost all tens on one review, and it's consistently scored 8's and 9's on many others. One screener even said he really deliberated about fowarded it, "a strong candidate for a foward" but he relented because he'd preferred to hear the phrase, "Silence Is The SWEETEST Thing I've Ever Heard." (instead of 'best) He said he hated to be so picky, but that was one of the reasons for not fowarding it.Others have pointed out that while they really liked "Silence Is the Best Thing I've Ever Heard," the lyrics need to be more conversational....so I know it's a strong song, it's just not quite there yet.But is "Silence" better than "I'd Rather Be Lucky Than Good?" Hell no, by a mile!!! There is REASON you got fowards on that one...it's fantastic. But thanks so much for your kind words, Cam....they mean the world to me 'coz I know you write great stuff!

A lot of people seem to like "Lucky" but I don't think it will ever get anywhere because the character is 1) In a bar 2) not lovable (or so I'm told) and 3) It sounds like something Mickey Gilley would have cut (or so I'm told). I'm just hoping for a young George Jones or Merle Haggard type guy to come along to fill the role, but these days their whole star persona is wrapped up in the songs they sing, and no star wants to be identified with a loser in these politically-correct days of corporate sponsorship. Actually, I always thought of it as a love song, but I'm just a demented writer.Cam

Look at Jamey Johnson....his songs are about 'losing' in life. He's really becoming hot...he writes his own stuff, but he could sing some of your songs too. Personally, I like the darker fare. I can see "Lucky" being on the forefront of something. I think people are sick of the sweetsy 'my dog died and went to heaven' type songs.....bring back the Haggards and the George Joneses. One of my favorite newer songs is "Drinking Me Lonely" by Chris Young.....it got some airplay, but not enough. I also love "The Old Crowe Medicine Show".....they certainly need more airplay than they get......I've been to one of their shows, and they brought the house down. They're more alt-country (really hard to classify) anyway.

That's definitely a song I'd put on it.CamThat IS a GREAT song! Since I read this, it's been stuck in my head (again)!

If Adrienne can't make it (I hope she can) "Don't Mind Me" MUST be played at that panel.

If Adrienne can't make it (I hope she can) "Don't Mind Me" MUST be played at that panel. You guys are too kind. I think that Real Good Night would be better to play at the panel. As much as I love Don't Mind Me, I know it's not a Nashville demo and so it will be difficult for it to break. Real Good Night was demoed in Nashville and got the Push Forward so I'm thinking it's the one to play. Now I just got to get there somehow...and get my song randomnly chosen when I have terrible luck. Two next to impossible tasks I think. Anyone have an extra miracle they want to share....
