Very true but look at alot of the replys they give to folks Some of them just dont make any sense and thats one of the points I am trying to get across I am saying what if just what if these success storys are true what if they are not what if they are just people's pictures saying hey I got a deal Frankley I never saw a person who got a succes story and even heard of them nor have I tried to look them up ither but unless you know them on a personal level we will never know for sure ... And yes it is up to us as the people to join or not but once you have joined your money is gone I dont think they willl be giving no refund for not even 4 ot 5 months As I said before in another post its a gamble you take on it and as Tbar said he called them up and they got snippy about it his call .. I found it kinda funny when I wrote my first post about deciding to join taxi I had a few reviews sent back with good marks until I posted my thread about is Taxi really on the level about forwards and such after that yeah I got one return that was on target for the listing but was rejected due to lyrics but I kept my head up and sent in more

And I have not really scene anybody who has gotten forwarded say that they got paid as of yet for most of them are in libarys waiting in limbo with the old submit and forget term haha As for people who claim their music is great and expect to be stars I highly duebt that mostly everything you do is gonna be hard but thats not the point the point is the subject of screeners posting wrong info on listings and people taking a cut and losing money people getting stupid replys on songs they submit stupid replys about lyrics and so on and on and on I bet if this was submitted it would get returned due to its to specific
Mother do you think they'll drop the bomb
Mother do you think they'll like the song
Mother do you think they'll try to break my balls
Ooooh aah, Mother should I build a wall
Mother should I run for president
Mother should I trust the government
Mother will they put me in the firing line
Ooooh aah, is it just a waste of time
Hush now baby, baby don't you cry
Mama's gonna make all of your
Nightmares come true
Mama's gonna put all of her fears into you
Mama's gonna keep you right here
Under her wing
she won't let you fly but she might let you sing
Mama will keep baby cosy and warm
Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe
Of course Mama's gonna help build the wall

Mother do think she's good enough for me
Mother do think she's dangerous to me
Mother will she tear your little boy apart
Oooh aah, mother will she break my heart
Hush now baby, baby don't you cry
Mama's gonna check out all your girl friends for you
Mama won't let anyone dirty get through
Mama's gonna wait up till you get in
Mama will always find out where
You've been
Mamma's gonna keep baby healthy and clean
Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe
You'll always be a baby to me
Mother, did it need to be so high

Re: Another Peculiar Return ala Craig Morgan
I heard from the head screener's assistant (please...) and did what I figured they would do. They decided the song was not worthy of such a high bar (melodically and lyrically) for Craig Morgan, even though they admited that, as a vet, he would like patriotic songs. They offered a $5.00 refund on the submission, because they disagree with the screener concerning the remarks about the "timing" of the song for the troops. As a side note she mentioned the screener was a Marine. She also noted in her email that new members are rarely forwarded in their first year. Nice...

My reply email stated that I guess I should have kept the $200.00 + in submission and waited until next year, since I will most likely not be forwarded in my first year. I also told her that her $5.00 refund did not explain why the screener told me "to be ready to pounce" if the news and timing for the song dictates, and yet still not be strong enough. It is this kind of contradiction that will prompt my refund letter. BTW, also told her that I did not believe for a second that the screener is a Marine.

She could have very well said that in the email it does hold some truth to it .It could mean alot of things I think its really awsome they gave his five bucks back but how many others got the same situation

Geokos,I understand your frustration only too well but instead of arguing with Dave and Mazz go and listen to their work.,and the funny thing is,if you need help and they are available they will help you.

I have listened to their work and to be honest its all in personal taste on what one likes its not the point if they got forwarded I am not ruffeling my feathers with them They are responding to me I am just asking Dave how long did it take for him to get forwarded my point is clearly stated in the post above where Tbar recieved a letter in the letter states new memeber usually dont get forwarded for the first year and how the screener screwed up does that make it right for them to jump on my opinion which has nothing to do with them or there forwards I think not

My other question is now ? why is it that when a person post some thougts and legit questions it gets turned into a dog fight about dont say anything bad about it The funny thing is no one wnats to admit that what is being said is mostly true ..Its ok to spend three grand just to do it all over again to get maybe if your lucky a pass by one of the screeners who maybe is haveing a bad day and decides not to forward anything it gets slipped by cause unlike Tbar refused to do anything about it ...Thats the subject here not a chicken fight between other memebers or who's here to help me ...lol

The Taxi comment that many new members don't get forwarded in the first year is being taken completely out of context. New members often don't get forwarded in their first year because they have a learning curve with respect to writing and production, not because of some Taxi conspiracy to hold them off to year two. And it's not always the case. Sometimes people join and their music is of the caliber that they get forwards right away.

Oh, and my membership year expires soon... I went 0 for 7 on my most recent submissions. So I guess I'm not getting any forwards purely to get me to re-up.

Casey

I joined in Jan of 2008. My first submission was returned and then my next nine were forwards. I then started submitting to high-bar listings and got lots of returns, with the constant critique being that my production skills weren't good enough. So I took a break from writing for awhile and focused solely on production. I finished 2008 with 47 forwards and 60 returns. Then last year I started signing deals from those forwards. Kept on submitting, just not as much, and finished 2009 with 35 forwards and 51 returns. So far this year, I haven't had as many chances to submit to listings because the deals I signed are taking up the majority of the tracks I've done. I'm at a point where my supply can't keep up with the demand. So far for 2010, I've had 9 forwards and 18 returns, including the forward and a return for the brooding listing.

If you wanna see some of my actual placements, go here and you can see some video clips - http://www.bigbluebarry.com/news/

Here's the thing... a lot of us DO know each other on a personal level. We've shared meals and drinks at the Rally. Some of us have even met up in Nashville on more than one occasion to help someone move and to share production and networking tips and tricks. If you wanna know why it seems people may be a bit "defensive" around here it's because we know each other outside of cyberspace... and I think it's safe to say that we all actually like each other and enjoy hanging out when we can. I would venture to say that to varying degrees, we also each feel as if we owe a debt of gratitude to TAXI for the success we've achieved. I know I do. So when someone comes out guns a blazing about TAXI being a scam, we tend to stand up and take notice. Honestly, if TAXI was really a scam, do you think they could have lasted for over 18 years now? Is it perfect? Nope. Does it work for everybody? Nope. But is it a scam? No.

I understand being frustrated about returns. I'm not happy about a couple that I had yesterday. It's like Mazz said, how you deal with those critiques and returns that determines your success.

I found your TAXI profile and listened to some of your tracks. You've got some quality sounding tracks there. I really enjoyed the "Emily's Smiling" and "Goodnight Sweet Prince" tracks.
