As I've said a few times before, immersing yourself in the Rally is like finding your tribe. And tearing yourself away is like leaving home.I am always touched by how supportive members are of each other, how willing to offer encouragement and share information. And I would especially mention the mentors who stayed for *hours* for drive-bys, past the scheduled hour, without breaks that I noticed, to listen to everyone. Their generosity said a lot about them and their relationships with TAXI.But most of all, I have to ask, are they using oversized shot glasses to measure drinks in the lobby bar? Holy crap!

The only bummer for me about this year's rally is i just didn't get enough time with my forum peeps. Still I'd say this was my favorite rally ever because of the interactions i had with you all. the sense of community and camaraderie creates such an amazing energy, and there is so much to glean from the industry pros. this was my fifth rally, but i always walk away having learned something.i have to say that both jeffrey steele and kara dioguardi were major highlights for me this year- watching jeffrey perform was AMAZING, and kara's no b.s. "this is how it is" critiques were such an eye opener.thanks a ton Michael!PS i will look into the fishing situation in st. lucia

Well I know that I don't have the ability to effective write about the vibe that was there. Michael I know that you didn't necessarily start the Road Rally to help create the community - but that to me is the best part of the rally. Don't get me wrong - the seminars and panels and all of the industry people are fantastic and I'm so glad you have them. However, getting together with others who are like me and trying to succeed in this business is the best part for me.I love talking with those who have been where I am and are now seeing success. Their energy is contagious. They are so willing to help out. If it weren't for the rally (and now these forums) it would be difficult for any of us to get together.By getting to know each other we hope for each other's successes. It is so exciting to have anyone have success that is a TAXI member - especially if we get to see it happen, it seems more personal that way.Thank you Michael for your willingness to put on the rally each year and for the great things it does for people who attend them.Trent Oliphant

Michael, THANK YOU!!! I learned a ton at this years Rally, and really enjoyed meeting the forum members or "Dots" in person. One of the high points for me was seeing Barry and Mazz get awards. Mazz is always super helpful on the boards and Barry was the very first guy I met at last years Rally, and is probably the nicest guy on the planet! Congrats Guys! Sincerely,Mark

It was awesome for me to attend my first Rally. There was nothing more encouraging than talking with Barry and Mazz at length, as well as having my hip hop track listened to by 900 people and to have DT say, "This would work well on the Oprah Winfrey show" about it. I know I can do it, and I will take the knowledge that I gained this weekend to create all kinds of future success! It wouldn't happen without TAXI or Michael Laskow. So say what you will, say it's a racket, but all I know is that if you have talent it can hook you up with the right people and put you over the top. AWESOME.
