What makes me angry is the feigned ignorance the head of BP tried during questioning and the "apology" for our reaction. The BP head had a look on his face like our country is over reacting. They don't seem to be in any big hurry to plug the leak, either.
If there was ever proof that many of our "officials" are bought and paid for, joe barton showed it. He even sounded spineless.
By the way, what makes the working backbone of this country "little people"?

A centrifuge?? Really??

Well, I guess Costner would know. It must have been what he was using here to purify the water. :D

I feel kinda bad for the head of BP. Yeah, it was wrong, it is a disaster, etc., etc., but seriously he is still a human being... some people I've talked to or heard on the news are ready to hang the guy!! It just annoys me when people get so up in arms about environmental matters yet they can look the other way when it comes to countries with ruthless dictators who murder innocent people, PEOPLE, like it is nothing.

The oil spill has really upset me too (and I'm in Florida right now and it JUST hit our beaches nearby us in the panhandle region!) and I've had nightmares about being trapped in the ocean with oil... so don't get me wrong, I'm upset, but I do think some people are may be taking it a bit too far with their reactions. And just for the record, I'm not talking about anyone on this thread.

Am I alone in this thought?

Hmmmm, a corporation pays million$ to a group of government officials to 'look the other way' while safety standards are being flouted-which party is to blame? [Bugs Bunny voice] Eeeeeh, how 'bout both, Doc?

Reputation? I didn't think he was well known before the disaster. Couple of years and a book tour for his bestseller, he'll be back and better than ever, and perfect timing, the well's been capped and holding for awhile, so if it fails it will be the botching from a different ceo, and when all the criticism comes later about payments being bungled, he'll be the go to guy on all the news channels about how he would have done it better, coinciding with the release of his bestseller of course, lol! America, love it, don't change it!
