I'm too cheap for stuff like that. I just take a couple of boom stands, position them behind the mic like shown in your picture, and drap a quilt across them to form a nice, soft backstop for the mic. (Oops, did I say that out loud? )Jonathan

My favorite song by Jimmy Webb is "Wichita Lineman." That lyric just breaks me up, being an ex-wire hanger and all ---Say, Geoff, what's it like living in S. Korea? Did you ever see James Brown when he played there?I remember a story about James Brown going to Korea for a big concert. His manager was already there, but James' flight was delayed. His publicist didn't know about the trip, and called his manager.Publicist: "Where's James at? He won't answer his phone."Manager: "James is just getting into Seoul."Publicist: "What are you talking about!? James Brown is the GODFATHER of Soul!"(Rimshot/choke cymbal!)Ern

I use it with a fairly tight cardioid pattern for lead vocals. It's given me great results.Apr 17, 2008, 2:22am, silvercord wrote:it sounded dry as...hmmm dry as something thats really darn dry!:)Wow! I just listened to "For My Beloved Dreaming". I'd say it almost made me cry, but then I'd have to turn in my man card! Seriously, the winding sound with stereo panning, the stereo panned music box playing Patti Page's "Try To Remember" (such a melancholy tune!)...man, that sounds great. Then you come in with the voice pad...just sweet, man. Good job.
