Quote:The Yamaha GO46 firewire interface from Zzounds...it's a nice one, just as good as the Presonus Firebox I sold to get this one....Hey Mark,I've got the Firebox. What's the difference with the GO46?Much the same or better?Dave.
I put the kettle on, it didn't suit me.

It's a great CLEAN amp. Mine has appreciated about like your Super. They're going for about $1200 on eBay.For DIRTY tracks, I use either an old Ampeg VT-40 or the other amp I'm REALLY glad I bought:A Soldano tube pre-amp that I run through a Peavey 60/60 tube power amp. What a GREAT sound the Soldano has, and is really versatile for live shows with its channel switching!Ern

Used to have a 60 watt Ampeg 4x10 of similar vintage w/2 6550s. Too loud for anyplace this side of a small hockey arena, in overdrive. Hella tone if the cops don't show up, though...

Works just fine, no regrets. Like I said, I liked the Firebox, but took the risk of selling it when I saw I could get a similar interface, but also Cubase Studio 4, all for $219. I even pocketed some extra cash from the craigslist sale. Man, I LOVE CS4...

Too good a thread to die. The MXL V57M, at just a shade under $70US, ain't a U87, but it's close enough for the price.
