I’m glad because I got to see that there are people here with real feelings. Good to see. I’m big on that myself. Not only that, but I may have brought some of you out of your shells when I poked you. Good? No? Sorry if I hurt your feelings. I love Hippies too, by the way. I only used that as a description to your being in them (Shells) because the world has forgotten how cool you all are, and with that you’ve turned your backs on US… I haven’t seen you reaching or looking back. Feel me? I thought I was obeying the rules of this site by posting where I have. That to me was my way of showing respect. I’ll admit that I became frustrated when after 4 years of doing so I had received very little in the way of help, advice, ect. Anyways, life’s a Bitch and I sing about it, so that’s my pain. I share it with the world naked. Allen AllenWhatever about this post and your last post... why don't you just dive in, surf around Peer to Peer, find a few tracks in your genre (I'm sure there are some), leave a few helpful comments and just get to enjoy the place And soon enough people'll be commenting on your stuff. Naked or not Welcome.

Take an old genre, add a new twist and they call it a 'new genre.Wes,I totally agree with you. Music changes by mixing up existing styles. Example: The Police added reggae to rock/new wave...Bam! A new style. And the reason that music changes in these familiar twists is that people just don't enjoy totally unfamiliar musical styles. They have to relate it to something they like already and feel the new as a "variation".

It didn't feel to me like we were passing total and complete judgement on you, we were just asking you to participate more and give us a chance to get to know you. It actually seemed more like you were passing judgement on us because we didn't pay attention to you right away. This is a pretty welcoming crowd, join in more like you have on the other forums and I think you'll have a more positive experience. Thanks for not running away and for giving it another shot.Mazz

Hi Alimony -I agree with some of your points about the board not being quite as helpful to everyone as it had been in the past. There seemed to me that there's been a defensive tone to a lot of posts in the last few months, a low number of responses, instead of an effort on the "poster's" part to understand a bad critique or ask for help (or offer help). It doesn' t make sense for this to happen, since this forum is LOADED with great people and a ton of talent - My bet is that it will be back up to its own high bar soon. Anyway, I was glad to see your post. I don't blame hippies for this problem. I may blame them for lots and lots of other things, but not for the board's growing pains Alright, man - just wanted to introduce myself and say hello, and glad you are hanging in there with us a while longer.

But every now and then old hippies can listen to some new stuff and appreciate it. I just listened to King Hustle on your website. And guess what....it's a good tune! It's a nice party tune...with a good groove. I don't claim to be a current hip-hop expert though.I listened to some of your other tunes as well....you have sort of an Eminem vibe going on, although that will make you laugh probably, but it's true. But it's not a bad comparison, although you might see it as mainstream and OLD, I dunno. Anyway, thanks for the listen. Paradise was a good tune too...I'd like you to list those lyrics in the future if you could....some powerful and deep stuff. Kind of like city poetry music....rapper early 90's style, but more updated and current....I can hear some NWA influence there....great stuff. BTW, I owe some folks e-mails and PMS and I'll return them ASAP.God Bless You!! I Love You. Thank You so Much. AL

I've been reading this thread for that past couple of days and found it most interesting. It really has shown the true character of all involved, and its refreshing to see the good nature of the members of this forum. I've seen other forums where someone who complains a bit or something, gets totally slammed. That didn't happen to much here, or when it did it seemed in good fun, to make a point. As far as helpfulness in this forum, I wonder if there a few more like myself that are a bit shy to offer advice for fear of not feeling qualified and steering someone in the wrong direction. I think I have become a bit complacent by letting the experts in this forum give the real solid advice. Input is input and is all good. That being said, I am going to make a better effort to not be so shy and offer more input.
