WARNING: thread about to be hi-jacked...Quote:have been thinking of upgrading the old DP 4.52 that i am running. Hey Rob,I updated to DP 5 and I find it to be a little quirky. Sometimes, for no reason, all Midi data will suddenly jump up to max volume for a few moments. Tech support was absolutely no help. It just seems to be a quirk that they can't figure out. Hopefully, they'll work this out with their next incarnation. zink

I've now replaced the 828mkII with a friend's old 828, and a $29.95 midi splitter. As soon as I plugged the 828 in, it operated perfectly. Logic, Quicktime and iTunes then also all worked perfectly. So, I think it's not a driver problem, which means it's hardware(828mkII). But I'm gonna verify that by trying it out on someone else's rig. Thanks for all your help, everyone. and Aub, for some reason, the OS combo updater said I was not allowed to install it on either of my drives. Oh well. Some things we just have to accept. Gear breaks. I don't see as well as I used to either...

Hmmm... in hindsight, I think you may have to roll back to 10.4.9 with the combo, then back to 10.4.10... of course, I'm so slow in updating I've never had to roll back Aub

I'm pretty sure you would have to do a reinstall of your OSX 10.4 from the disks and then update from there. I don't really see the need for it though, unless you updated your OS and you had drivers that were not compatible with the upgrade.
