What would you submit for this listing?

Post by squidlips » Tue Sep 11, 2007 10:39 am

A wide range of ADULT CONTEMPORARY SONGS (with vocals) are needed quickly by an LA-based Music Library for the Fall TV season. NO LOVE SONGS - they're open to all lyrical topics except love/relationship songs as they wish to diversify their catalogue. Great performances are essential, especially vocally. Great choruses and hooks are also paramount. Male or female vocals are OK. Though they're seeking a wide range of AC material, they did specify that we be very selective in what we send them, so please submit your very best and most commercial material. They offer a non-exclusive, 50/50 split deal - you keep your original copyrights. Broadcast quality needed. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI. For ground submissions, please enclose a S.A.S.E. if you would like a response. As always, we will notify everyone via e-mail, whether your submissions have been Forwarded or Returned. Submissions must be received no later than 4:00 PM, Pacific Standard Time (California time), Friday, Sept. 14, 2007. TAXI # D070914ACPretty much it leaves the door wide open except for love songs (are they meaning ballads too??) I'd like to submit to this but I don't have any idea exactly what to send in. Anyone else throwing something at this listing?

Hey squidlips--I'm rolling the dice on a couple for this listing: "Better Men" and "Truth Flag":http://www.taxi.com/djdeweeseBoth songs are in line for re-mixing, but they are worth submitting in their current state (hopefully!) since they are some of my only non-relationship songs.Let us know if you send something in--

I'm thinking about tossing one at the rock listing. I think the song I have in mind might be a little too crunchy for AC, although Bleed could work for the AC maybe. Hmmm...wheel's are turning.***********Back to say I've decided against submitting to this listing. Don't think Bleed is AC, it's just weird LOL. I sent a different track in for the Rock listing instead.I think I've had waaaaaay too much sugar today.

Listen to the Blues Heidi McCurdy is the singer Got 2 dispatch forwards for this song yesterday: this listing (D070914PO) as well as the one that started the thread, to the same company. Then the same day, I got this paragraph in a review of the same song:Quote:This song is really close. some fantastic things about it, but i don't think you have nailed it yet. You have some great ideas, but did not assemble them in a way to get the most out of them and the balance of the song as a whole suffers. I do think with a bit of reworking, this could be very good. I'm not confused, and certainly not ranting. After all, I just got 2 forwards. I'm just pointing out that different songs find homes, even when other reviewers think a tune still needs work. And I agree with what the reviewer said about the song. It's All Good

Now I'm indecisive to go with my expanding waistline. Gotta love it. You really should submit Bleed. It's GREAT. I loooove that song. The prechorus and chorus knocked me out, girl. You could make this, easy. And no where near as crunchy or weird as you think. It's got spice in the gritty guitar, is all. I told you I loved this already, right?
