You're right there Hooks. Stan is excellent. It's also featured in The RS top 500 songs which is stretching it a bit IMO!

Yeah... RS doesn't represent reality for the most part.I'll bet "Amazing Grace" and "Happy Birthday To You" aren't included in the list... Two of the most performed songs in the history of the modern world.

Yeah, it's ridiculous. I don't think there's even a single Cole Porter song! Come to think of it, doesn't McCartney own the rights to 'Happy Birthday to you'? Good to see somebody's still keeping the thread Beatles related!

I too heard that Paul bought "Happy Birthday To You" long ago, maybe the mid 70's. In fact I heard that he explained the opportunity of buying song rights to Michael Jackson and then got screwed out of some of his own songs when MJ bought them out from under him Seems it caused a riff between them.Just rumors, don't quote me on it.
