Re: Why was Sgt. Peppers such a huge album?
Quote:Did y'all know that Sgt Peppers is actually a twist on a popular English sidedish? They came up with that title because Ringo used to order sardge n' peppers for lunch. Sardge is a slurry of cornmeal and rotten cabbage that has fermented. They add peppers to it for the sake of texture and call it sardge n' peppers... Now howzat for a Beatle fackt. Dint know that now didja... You got me one that one! Never knew dat!Can I be Larry!? He was the under-rated Stooge. Just his expressions were priceless. Remember the court scene when he, for no reason, started yelling "Woo, woo, woo" while beating his chest!?And the classic one where Curly was boxing in the ring while Larry played "Pop goes the weasel" on his violin!?I loves dos dopes!Sgt. Pepper

Ya learn sumptin' new every day!"The only real version of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the mono version," says 2nd engineer Richard Lush. "The Beatles were there for all the mono mixes. Then, after the album was finished, George Martin, Geoff Emerick and I did the stereo in a few days, just the three of us, without a Beatle in sight. There are all sorts of things on the mono, little effects here and there, which the stereo doesn't have."So the REAL fifth Beatle was a Lush! Ern

Alright, dig this all you Sgt. Pepperites! The french horn teacher at my alma mater (W. Mich. U.) was Neill Sanders, who played on Sgt. Pepper's! He played on the song "Sgt. Pepper's", and "A Day In The Life." He was also hired to play on "I Am The Walrus." How FAB is that!?Unfortunately, I never took french horn class, because I heard he told a lot of great stories about our loveable moptops! Ern
