Rob, for some reason I am thinking the vibe is very Stephen Stills or Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young or some combination.
The kick is tamed. The lead synth seems like it should be louder if it was longer, but it might sound odd to be louder for a short time, not sure there. The song captures the above influences so well, it's really hard for me to nitpick!

Sedge,

This is a great song. I love everything about it - the syncopation, the melody, the arrangement. I think the lyrics work. Yes you could drop a little flute or harmonica solo in the one section and the ending might be better with a flute / harmonica vamp or a vocal vamp out, but for the most part I don't think there is much you can do to improve this tune. You might consider re-titleing it to "Then I'll Show What You Mean to Me". (That could also be your vocal vamp out.) It's more positive and that's the line that stuck with me the most after listening to it a couple of times. Great tune; great job.

HHi Sedge.
Sounding good and have to admit to liking that bas drum beat. You mention having a lead instrument and I couldn't help playing along on a mandolin. Do you know a fiddle player coz ah rekons thats what would fit. Good feel to this one buddy, and I'm impressed by the vocals. Nice one.

Yeh it works pretty well all the way thru but I dont want anyone thinking I'm muscling in on your creation. That wasn't my idea buddy. I know a fantastic fiddle/cello player lives not far from you. He does travel back and forth to France so I dont know if he's near you at the moment. I'll try and find him. If he's over here in France I'll get him to have a listen to the track. He's amazing at improvisation. He aint no mug being classically trained. We call him Philharmonic.

Sorry for two posts folks.........Kev

Hey Sedge, I'm hearing a second vocal doing some kind of rhythmic thing. A chugging of a train kind of thing. Then the voices could play off one another. Great vibe dude. D.B.

Sedge mate.... dont think i've one of your tracks I didnt like. You remind me alot of a kinda sparklehorse meets trashmonk. You gotta a good vibe going on.

Initial thoughts...

Still need to tame the kick. I suspect your pushing it to get it cut through. Try adding some 'click' . Take out a bit of 400hz/500hz and add a quite narrow boost at about 1k-1.5k . It will add more beater rather than thump and will allow you to hear the kick more without having to flap your trousers to much.

Bass... again a bit undefined. Add a slight touch of distortion.I think it will sit with your aesthetic and help with the definition.

The solo I would have come at from slightly angle and maybe gone with a melodica vibe so it comes from leftfield.

Bv's need brightening up.Theyre as bit smushy.

Of course the above views are subjective and not necessarily endorsed by the management :) Cheers.
