One thing about midi is to start (if you haven't done so already) to assemble a core collection of QUALITY instruments. That doesn't mean expensive. For the most part, I picked up stuff that others were using successfully and most of those things were hundreds of dollars, not thousands. Pretty affordable really.Afterall, if Matto and Mazz are both using Sampletekk for their piano sounds and I'm using the General Midi piano from my built-in soundcard, I'm at a huge disadvantage before I write a single note of piano music. Brindabella had a great post about having trouble with "realism" in the orchestral stuff but then building instead on a more solid foundation with quality piano instrumentation and piano tracks. I know she recently got a good, quality piano from Sampletekk and I listened to one of her recent "Sampletekk" pieces... like night and day with an investment of just a few hundred dollars. The music and composition were already there... the quality piano sample just took away the last remaning reason for a screener to give her a return. I have no idea what you use, if the frustration is a "quality" issue regarding the sample/instruments or if you're still dealing with the learning curve of new, quality stuff. If its the former and you haven't looked honestly at your collection of instruments and instrumentation, do that and if they're not doing the job for you, don't let a fairly simple thing like updating your sounds cause undue frustration. Until she gets more "stuff" I think Brindabella will do very well with her excellent, broadcast quality, piano tracks. It's a great foundation upon which to build. HTH,Dave

Congrats Brindabella!! Way to go. Use what you have to the fullest and that will help you move to the next level. There's always a need for excellent piano tracks!Regarding MIDI SongStream, what are you struggling with? The sounds or the "MIDI feel"? Not to hijack the thread but maybe start a new thread and post some of your struggles so we can hear what you are referring to.Again, Brinda, mucho congrats!!! You deserve it! Now get back to writing!! Mazz

I mean, you and Dave were banging me on the head with the 7CG piano for more than a year and I just got it a month ago and WOW! What a piano!!! .
