Quote:Have you taken charm lessons from JohnnyDean?I have to stick up for JD1. That needs to be quantified as "Have you taken charm lessons from LAST YEAR'S JohnnyDean?". That guy certainly was a tolerance tester. This year's JD1 is pretty much straightforward, informative and to the point without being insulting. He's gracious with complements but only when they're deserved and sometimes kinda funny. I can't figure it out.

Re: Big Hello!
I realized just recently that I did not start posting on this board by way of an introduction like unclecharlie, I just jumped into a couple of discussions. I apologize for my rudeness to not properly introduce myself.I have been amused and amazed at the people who post their introduction as if they were the coming of the new Messiah or the Queen of England visiting. Folks here with a presence should stop all activity and bow and scrape and prove themselves to a complete stranger? I Don't think so.If indeed success in the music business is as much "who you know" as "how much talent and ability do you have", why would you want to show up destroying relationships you have yet to even establish?A wise man told me a number of years ago that in every encounter you have the opportunity to build someone up or tear someone down. This forum seems to have more "build you up " type people than "tear you down" types. Fortunately, because of that, the tear you down types "self select" themselves out pretty quickly. Hurray for that. Fortunately for me, rude people like me that show up unannounced and not properly introduced are allowed to hang around awhile.Thank you for that, or as they say in Tennessee: Thank you all y'all (that's the plural of y'all) ChuckBTW I just learned from Dave's post on how to use the smiley face things. Thanks Dave.

It's all down to you Dave (as you might know) because of the respect I have for you as a man and a musician.

Quote:So it appears that bc and Walton are the only ones making money from Taxi but they still can't come up with actual figures? And they seem very professional and nice. But the others seem like rank amateurs. It shows. Crass and rude. Is this what people turn into when they can't make it with Taxi? The big mouth wanna be's have a lot of gall. Sounds like they should keep quite until they prove themselves. Nothing worse than the amateurs spouting off. Thanks again to bc and Walton for your help. I have decided to leave this board. It's not very professional. Bye.Oh dear. Yet another one of those. If anyone came on to this forum and read a few posts before they started asking questions, they may find out that they didn't need to ask those questions in the first place, because the answers were already there.I can't see you getting anywhere with that attitude Unclecharlie. How many of the 4,000+ forum members are now going to have any interest at all in your up and coming website?Talk about closing doors.
It's been said that I have Murderous eyes.

Re: Big Hello!
Hi Guys and Gals,Hadn't looked at the forum for a week or so, and just saw this one. Laughing out LOUD. You guys rock!!I'd bet dollars to donuts that uncle charlie is somehow related to a recently departed "associate" of TAXI's. All the sudden, these things are popping up all over the place (not just on our boards). We've seen this happen quite a bit, typically when somebody launches a new competitve company or service, and they use the anonymity of the net to slam us, and hide their own ID.What scares me even more is that uncle charlie will probably join TAXI, drive us insane, get a refund, and THEN trash us all over the place. Sadly, I think a lot of people believe whatever they read, especially the bad stuff (because it's tabloid like).So... just a simple thanks from the 'ol taxiboss to all of you "regulars" for being so generous with your time, talent, and advice. I'm sure you've helped thousands of GOOD people. I WANNABE just like you thanks,Michael

Re: Big Hello!
I guess I don't consider any of us as wannabees. If you write songs, you ARE a songwriter. Being good or bad at it has nothing to do with it. I knew it was a "put on" the moment I read that the dude wanted to "sell his songs" which meant, he's probably never even pitched a tune in his life. So.... he would be a wannabee song pitcher. weird...just plain weird.

Re: Big Hello!
Quote:Maybe not "good or bad" since both are fully exchangeable. A"bad" song can be a hit, while a "good" song can be in the trash.Under TAXI, it's a matter of success in placements. Those who get placed are rewarded and those who don't.........keep trying! Therefore, you don't have as much credibillty until you place. Right? I dunno. Are you saying that you are only a "songwriter" if and when you are recognized by your peers? Sign a deal? Have a hit? or just write a song?Is a painter someone who paints or only someone who sells a painting?
