I'm proud to be a WANNABE!I wannabe a better songwriter!I wannabe a better lyricist!I wannabe a better vocalist!I wannabe a better engineer!I wannabe a better human being! It's been 25 years since I made my first demo with a borrowed 4 track reel to reel, and I still feel like a beginner sometimes. I'm very grateful to be fortunate enough to make a living doing what I love, but I still study, learn, and experiment like the teenager who just wanted to be the world's biggest rock star. It's the desire to be better that creates success. From my experience there are two kinds of people in the world:1. Those who wannabe better and strive to achieve.2. Those who think they're better but blame others for their lack of success.Okay... maybe there's three kinds of people:3. Those who think they suck!Hmmm... maybe four:4. Those who don't think!Well... that list could go on forever... and I don't wannabe writing this post all day Aub "Wannabe" Delane

Quote:Quote:aw, shucks.... Funnily enough, I have a song about this particular phrase. Very '80's rock(for a reason), but appropriate if anyone has a spare moment to check it out. Call me a an opportunist, or whatever you want. Can someone explain to me how to put a song title link in this post, and have it link directly to my song "Just Like You." I've still never learned how to do this. Is it called transmit?try thishttp://www.broadjam.com/player/player.as....ionI NDEX=19060 what I did was go to your page and click on "play" - when the player comes up there is a URL at the top of the it... copy & paste kick ass song

I've seen it done.

Steve, I haven't read all the posts here; I just listened to, "My Baby and Me." Outstanding vibe to this cut. Bring up the piano in the mix, just a snitch, and this song with eventually be forwarded and placed -- if it hasn't already. bc

Agreed, songwriter. I ended up listening to all Steve's songs. All I can say is, phew!. They all sound totally polished and oozing professionalism. Even the styles that arn't my cuppa tea sounded great. You know, when faced with something like this, it makes a chap either throw all his stuff in the river in despair, or make him more determined to improve. I'll tall ya, as soon as my gear dries out, I'm gonna try and improve!

Quote:Is that your own band?Yeah, the band buzzing around in my head. I did cut the piano track with the singer. That made for a bit of a live sounding feel. I'd love to have a band at my beck and call, that would be fabulous. And the cash to pay 'em what they'd be worth. The live drums were imported from a jazz cover CD i did a few years back. Bass is trilogy. Strings, piano, wurly from Logic patches. Quote:Steve, Bring up the piano in the mix, just a snitch, and this song with eventually be forwarded and placed -- if it hasn't already. bcthx pal, I lost the mix in a hard drive crash. Can't edit anymore. I was just lucky I'd stored this mix on iTunes. It is in fact the tune that's received the best remarks. I would like to turn the piano up, but I can't, without starting over. It's on the "when I get around to it," pile. Glad you like it man.Quote:I ended up listening to all Steve's songs. All I can say is, phew!. They all sound totally polished and oozing professionalism. Even the styles that arn't my cuppa tea sounded great. That's really high praise. Many of them aren't my cuppa joe either. Quote:You know, when faced with something like this, it makes a chap either throw all his stuff in the river in despair, or make him more determined to improve. I'll tall ya, as soon as my gear dries out, I'm gonna try and improve!Well, let's see how smart I look now. I've submitted almost 200 times, with maybe 15 forwards. I feel very humble, and kinda dumb when i see other people with a ratio of %50 forwards. But I'm working on it. And I ain't quitting for another 15 years. Now listen to Mazz, Andre, Matto, gitarrero or GrandMatarkin. They are much better at making music that's gonna sell. Those guys are TOP notch. I'm still trying to figure out what to focu$ on, but I do like a lot of different styles.
