I really like this track... a few comments... The overall mix seems to me to be a bit loose and not pulled together.. did you use any Mix Buss Compression on the entire mix to "glue it all together" ? Also I would try and make the vocals a bit more intimate by modifing the reverb on the vocal lead.. did you use any Auxing of reverb to make everything sound like its in the same room ?? Just personal preferences.... but I love the tune !- Mic

hey Man, I've already told you how fantastic I think this song is. The bass part is awesome but I think needs an eq tweak somewhere (100 maybe) to bring it forward in the mix a bit. This is a great song IMO.

I think I'm hearing a glitch, here; there's a lovely drum flourish after the song is essentially over. Sounds like it belongs in the intro. The drums in the intro seem to start a couple measures late, to my ear. Hmmm. I still hear clicking on the consonants in the lead vocal, time for some de-essing? Try a different compressor setting or mic, maybe. The lead guitar sounds a bit thin; if you double it, it might sound too harrisonesque, though. Absolutely great song!

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE HELP. It means the world to me, as I am learning production via the Fumbling Around Blindly method...getting better, but the more I learn, the more I don't know. That clicking is from compression and poor mic placement...I'm using the Chandler Abbey Road Compressor/Limiter on a lot of these tracks and I need to tone it down on the lead vocal. The drums were assembled from loops by Niteshift who is ready to hang me by my toenails for still including some tinny drum machine stuff as well. I will amend all this, as well as a thin overall sound to this mix...sure sounded great through the one reference I bothered to check before posting, but once I played it in my car I heard all this too. Live and learn, again and again and again and again................. I'm going to give this one a little rest, come back to it with fresh ears and repost in a couple weeks or so.Warren...what's next you say? Beats me!-mk

Mark... Funny you should mention She Said She Said (about two pages ago)... I was thinking I would like to hear some Revolver-era guitars in there. I couldn't think of which song I was thinking of until I read you post and it's She Said, She Said. Maybe Taxman too. Of course, that would really invite comparisons that maybe you don't want, but it would sound cool.Nice tune!

Hi Cameron...yeah, I think if I went too far down that road it would become a parody of Revolver-style Brit Pop...frankly I think I went too far with the "ri-i-i-i-ight" part. It's most people's favorite part...but that has just about everything to do with John Lennon having already blown our minds with that very sound, that very harmony, that very word. Corey suggested I just hold that note, and that would work too...the song stands on it's own, so maybe that effect that I meant to be a "tip of the hat" is also somewhat of a crutch. But DAMN that clarion guitar sound would sound smokin' here! Time to plug an Epiphone Casino into a Vox AC-30 and let 'er rip!
